Would it be replacing the SHO or the Jetta?

From the pictures, it looks like the spoiler wouldn't be as obnoxious in the flesh. Also, it looks like the horizontal portions are blacked out, which would also reduce the visual impact.

I really like this - and the ST - I just need to get over my completely unfair anti-Ford bias. They are building some pretty awesome hat hatches!

If they offer an automatic transmission ;) who knows what could happen.

The RS is supposed to have a drift mode that sends 70% of the power to the rear wheels!!! So cool.

This player will be a great driver, but it surely won't be any more 'luxurious' than the STi.  The Golf R's interior will be a nicer place to be, and with the 2.3T, the RS will likely be the thirstiest of the bunch.

IMO, luxury and fuel economy will be the last things on RS buyer's minds.

I should clarify that.  I am assuming that doing what I do for work, I will have had a chance to drive one for myself before they actually land at the dealer in Canada. If the car drives the way that it looks like it will drive and I am expecting, I will buy it.  Right now, I am on the early call list at a dealership in Markham.

i like the hot hatches as much as the next guy, but $3k more than a Mustang GT??...hmmm...i'm sure the Focus is fun and all, but the Mustang is a Mustang and will still likely be worth something in 10 years if you sell it (as much as a Ford can be)...not sure i would say the same for the Focus RS...i'm sure it will be a hoot to drive, but judging by the lack of reliability i have seen in some of their recent vehicles, i'd be pretty hesitant about dropping $42-$50k on a Focus with a overboosted engine and fancy AWD system...i'd be worried about the out or warranty repair bills that likely have the dealership smacking their lips every time one drives off the lot.

They will sell every one they build. Most dealers will get one only. SVT dealers will get a few more.

true, but STi's are Subarus, and Subaru as a brand has strong resale value...Ford, not so much.
