Infotainment, which I think is much improved over previous generation.  It's very simple and fast to use.

It's not the golf ball shift knob from the GTI but it's still really nice.

I'm really liking the stereo in this Golf R.  Have the upgraded Infiniti stereo in the Santa Fe, but this Fender one in the Golf R blows it away, even though it may be down a couple hundred watts in output.

From what I've seen on YouTube the MIB 2 system you have has the same interface as what it in my GTI but the screen is much higher resolution and the processor is much faster.

I'd like to see the Discovery Pro system in action (part of the tech package).

Yeah the Fender audio system is quite nice. It blows the Bose system I had in my Mazda 6 out of the water (that system also had the spare tire mounted sub).

The lighting on these cars is awesome. Adaptive lights, static cornering lights, auto high beams... It's a great system.

Yeah I'd like to say it's the same system as yours but not 100% sure.  I see that the Nav has maps done by TomTom, I wonder if that means free map updates for life?  Probably not.

Thanks.  It's the pure white color and there will also be a pearl white color.  I have a pearl white on our SUV and I know how much it is to repaint anything (side mirror busted a couple of winters ago) and didn't want to pay the extra up front (VW charges extra for their pearl paint finishes) and if anything ever happens to it.

I can, but I choose not to.  There's a difference.

Very cool. At first glance, it looked like an auto shifter as the base looks long and narrow.

Made a mistake, you're the fourth Golf R owner I know. But unfortunately you're only the first one to get it with a stick shift.

Yeah it would seem there's a lot of people optioning the DSG.  I can't blame them though as it is faster, easier to drive in traffic, and if you plan on tuning (which I do not) it's more robust.

At least traffic isn't much of a concern here.

Nope, hence why I chose the manual.  I understand places like Toronto is not ideal for every day driving.
