Whether Coupe or Convertible, if i could afford it, I would jump to the V8 in a Mustang. IMO, the V6 lacks punch and sounds a bit lacklustre. Might as well get an Ecoboost. The V6, ECO and GT all sound like crap stock. The Eco sounds like a Fusion. The V6 is embarrassing and the GT is pretty bad considering the motor. What else can one expect from baffled mufflers.
the V6 lacks punchWell lets hear all about the model you drove
My V6 vert with the 3:55 lsd and Goodyear 18/235 F1 tires hardly lacks "punch". Hate to say it, but it just destroys my previous 944S2 and handles just as well.
My 3rd to 4th shift @ 6500 rpm is at 140 kph which is 10 km above the Ontario Street Racing Law.
I read a lot of blithering about the GT, but observe very little BUYING on this forum. One thing to keep in mind with the GT is the M82 tranny cannot handle the power of that V8. The 2015s are still grinding and otherwise blowing up.
GM uses an Aisin sourced 6 speed manual for the Camaro and then installs the much heavier duty Tremec 6060 for the V8. Still not boob proof, but they have less failures.
