I'm surprised this article didn't mention the #1 main competitor to this car and the car that defined this segment. The Buick Verano. The Verano also has an optional manual with the 2.0L Turbo option which can be had for around $30K after incentives.The Verano has a much nicer interior as well. I'm surprised how low rent the ILX interior is. It's barely better than a Civic interior.

I'll easily take plaid over a cliched black leather seat that will scorch your arse in summer, freeze it in winter unless you spring for the heated/cooled versions, and look like a 90year old's face in 5 years unless you "maintain" it every other week with exotic care products.

I like my Mazda 3's leather, although I don't expect it to last more than 6 years. But 3 years and 65,000km later, they still look decent. When they need to be replaced, I'll get high quality stuff to replace it.

Everything I've read so far on the ILX's interior has been pretty positive so I'd like to hear your specific thoughts on it.
Virtually every other review I have read about this updated / revised ILX has stated there was a good effort made to reduce noise. Seems maybe not enough.Here is a link to cabin noise ratings on some cars. http://alexonautos.com/cabin-noise/Equal to Audi A3... but not at quiet as others.

I've owned leather in my vehicles for years now and never once thought they were too cold in the winter or too hot in the summer.
