Now we have a better idea just how fast, as Ford has finally announced power figures for the car’s 5.2-litre flat-plane-crankshaft V8, which becomes the strongest naturally-aspirated motor in the company’s history, with 526 hp and 429 lb-ft of torque.

It’s also the highest-revving V8 Ford has ever produced, with an 8,250 rpm redline, and horsepower and torque peaks of 7,500 and 4,750 rpm, respectively. This engine’s a screamer.

There will be a waiting list for this...
I love it when a plan comes together.

I think this car perfectly hits the middle ground between the old Boss 302 and GT500 of previous generation.  I love me some naturally-aspirated engine, especially one that sounds this good.  The price was leaked as well at just under $50K USD, so again middle ground between Boss 302 and GT500.

That is very, very cool. Still not a fan of the bulbous nose on the car, but I think I could get over it with that engine under the hood.

Hmmm...if only I could get that engine in some other car... (nothing against the Mustang, I just prefer sedans to coupes).

Oh the possibilities...

What a fantastic engine and an impressive achievement for Ford.  Makes the 6.2L from the Stingray seem dowdy in comparison.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

It will be quite interesting to see a side by side.  As I am sure Ford set their sights on the Stingray when making it.  Similar price tag, yes the Ford has more hp, but the Stingray is over 500lbs lighter.  Wonder if Ford will use this engine in other applications.

I don't like the front of the car either, but with this engine, people will only see the back of it... ;D ;D

I hope I can get one in few years time.....

Driving thrills makes my wallet lighter.. and therefore makes me faster because i'm shedding weight... :D

We are living in the golden age of cars. These things will not last. I feel like a HAVE to buy something like this in the next number of years or I will miss out forever.

Certainly no one here will get in your way...

Your thread will start with a Corvette, and end with a minivan.  :P

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

This new generation Mustang is the first one that I like because it is a good car period and not just a good car for the money.  The GT350 ups the ante and makes it a really great car regardless of cost.  Between this and the new C7 Vette the domestics have been propped up to the forefront of the performance spectrum imo!   8)

Edit: Oops!  Forgot about Hellcat, Z28 and Focus SVT  ;D
