Put the diesel from the X3 28d in here and you'd have a winner!

I just hope in person it looks more CUV/SUV and less compact wagon/hatchback/allroad.  I wonder how it will handle with the Mini structure, and if that will mean less reliable.  Interior sure looks better though.

I agree re: the interior being way better than a Mini.  It actually sounds really, really appealing.  If they can put out a base model with the 2.0T + 8-speed + xDrive at the current base price of $36,990, it's gonna be one helluva hit.  That'd be right in line with the $37,200 GLA 4Matic, and it'd undercut the $38,300 Q3 with Quattro.

IF, however, they bump it up to the Q3's pricing, I'm going to be a saaaaad panda :(  Won't matter...idiots will buy it at any price.

Seems like the 'downsized' CUVs are going to be all the rage for the next decade.

With 1,500L of max cargo space, it's decent, though it really is the size of a hatchback on stilts.  I like it, but pricing will play a huge role here (especially with no 3.0T available).

The internal photo with the 5500 rpm redline means that example probably IS a diesel.   Picture is in OliverD's thread not this one.

Just saw a white one on the road this morning.  It looked pretty good IMO.  It looked a bit lower than the previous gen.

I guess that's what happens when a bunch of people say the first one was ugly though personally I liked it.

Personally I find the X3 and the X1 very bland, they weren't ugly just nothing special about them. The X5 is a good looking vehicle but the ones below it, just plain white bread. Its too bad they can't downsize the X5 looks.

The first gen looked off, like a raised wagon aka Outback. This one looks pretty decent with more proper CUV proportions.
