^ Who didn't have one of those? One of the few toys that little boys couldn't easily destroy in the sandbox. Couldn't even bend off those rubber exhaust stacks.

Still have mine plus many others. Do they even make these like they use to? I'm sure due to child safety concerns they had to dumb they down to prevent injury to children. I'm sure an elephant could stand on mine and not cause any damage to it.

I had one of those when I was a kid, as well as a hoe-type vehicle, and a bucket excavator.  They were all made of metal.  My grandma kept them in her house when my brother and I outgrew them, and they were still in such good condition that I ended up giving them to my nephew last year.  They were still in excellent condition. 

It makes me a little mad now, because their Dad (my BIL) stores them outside, exposed to the elements.
