Honestly, if someone is too big around to fit in Miata, you need to get smaller.  Tall, you can't change, but girth, well.  Our Miata club are pretty "representative" of "normal" people (way bigger than me...) and they fit.  You'd have to be pretty big not to fit.

MUST.  STOP.  READING.  ABOUT.  NEW.  MIATA.

 :rofl2:  Love this.

Reading the reviews is doing that to me too. I'm going to wait though. Holding out for a special edition.

Johgenx, you need to get another one! DOOO ITTTT! Keep your NA forever and add the ND. One is never enough...  ;D

Jacob and Mike,

I read / watched both of your reviews. Loved them. Mike, love how you ended your video too!

The car is NOT perfect.  Mazda needs to...

Drop the MX-5 thing.  Go with Miata, worldwide - and forever.

Never was a Miata worldwide, was MX-5 in most markets.

To be honest, I have always preferred the MX-5 designation.  Seems to go more in line with their names now, and before.  RX-7, 323, 626.

That's it I have decided.  I have always wanted one, but timing has been against me.  We will see if it comes true or not.  But I will strive to get an MX-5 in 2020.  I will be 40, both kids will be in full time school, and out of car seats.  Gives me some time to save a bit.  And align the "car situation" at home.  I choose the Mazda6.  My wife can choose the next car in a 2-3 years.  So in 5 years, I can choose my car again.    By then there will should be 1-2 special editions for sure...  Maybe in 2019, there will be a sweet 30th anniversary edition!

^^ I'm pretty sure they'll bring out a special edition in 2019 for the 2020 model year. (The 2015 mx5 was the 25th anniversary edition.)

I hope to hold out till then.

They've made a special edition for nearly every year the Miata has been available.

The standard name worldwide is the MX-5, so let is stick with consistency and standardisation.

I remember the Mk 5 VW Golf came to the US with a rabbit on the badge but I still call it a Golf. I also have a tendency to use names like the Ford Mondeo or the Opel Astra to designate the current Fusion and Saturn Astra.

The new MX-5 is barely slower than an S2000 to 60 MPH.

I guess it depends on your definition of "barely." The S2000's number is 4.9 s.  If this new Miata is anything like the NC I drove last weekend, it is a six second car at best.  That is slower than a V6 Camry.

Where have you seen 4.9? Best number I've seen is 5.5. And the new MX-5 has broken into the 5s, as posted above.
