Or maybe "femme blonde" is just Québécois slang, and the actual person who did this wasn't really blonde or really a woman.

This happened in France...

My understanding is the phrase is like "blonde moment" meaning not specifically a blonde woman, but someone having a "brain fart" kinda thing.

That'll buff right out.  From Wickedcarvids FB page

"The person that took this picture contacted us with the real story. Customer came in for an insurance frame swap. Mechanic threw a few body mount bolts in it loosely and lifted it up to put the rest in and tighten. The frame dropped out from under it and dragged the body down with it nearly crushing two employees. Nobody got hurt and the customer and dealership owner took a walk through the lot in search of a new Tahoe."

Good thing it was a dealership, not an indy shop.  Hope the guy gets a brand new Tahoe for that lol

Must've lifted by the body & not the frame for some odd reason

Yikes. Here is a question: Why would an entire frame need to swapped out on what looks to be a fairly new Tahoe? IS GM struggling with frames like Toyota is with the Tacoma?

it says it was an insurance frame swap, so i'm assuming it was in an accident...GM frames (like most brands in today's vehicles) are robust.

I was talking with a friend earlier this morning at the coffee shop and he was telling me about the mess he is currently in with his 2012 Mitsu Outlander.  He took it to a well known local aftermarket place about a month ago to buy a new trailer hitch and have it installed, and they flubbed the job completely.  He got the vehicle back and it immediately started throwing codes and doing all kinds of weird stuff.  He immediately took the vehicle back and they denied any wrongdoing on their part and claimed it was fine before it left their shop.

He then took it to the dealer and they discovered that the wiring harness had been damaged and repaired, and also that it had to be boosted in order to start before it left the other shop, so there was no way that it was ok before it left.  They also said he needs an new ECM module and wiring harness.  The company is still denying they did anything wrong so now it's been handed off to his lawyer for legal proceedings.  He is still without his vehicle and claims he is already out several thousand dollars.

I'm not sure why he took it there in the first place.  He works at the same company as me and we get all our trailer work done at another shop because we get good service from them and they are very good to deal with.  I've been taking my personal vehicles there for years for any service work i need.  We stopped dealing with the other company several years ago because of poor service and i thought he knew all that, or he should have.  Needless to say he's regretting taking it there in the first place.  :P

That sucks. It's not like the old days when wiring could be bodged and still work fine. With computers monitoring almost everything and with data flowing between multiple processors, it's really easy to screw things up.  A lot of people haven't caught on to this yet.

Yep, and things will get really interesting when the first DOS attack (or worse) occurs on an autonomous vehicle.

Most companies now offer ECU plug and plug modules for lighting.

Hard to imagine anyone not using one of those.

So many hack shops around.  That's the reason I won't be a used car with an aftermarket remote starter.
