Totally agree with the observations regarding the misleading headline of the article. A vehicle's price is the MSRP, minus any incentives, rebates, discounts, etc. that one can take advantage of or haggle. I also don't understand the $29,890 figure. A new Volt is $38,900 + $1600 = $40,500.
Apply the Ontario rebate of $8500 and we have $32,000. Am I missing something?
That being said, however, GM has basically held the line on pricing in Canada for the new Volt. A great deal any way you look at it for a state of the art car that doesn't require gas. If I was a power at GM, I would actually lobby Ontario to cut the rebate completely, as I believe it actually hurts sales elsewhere in Canada. I damn well won't buy one in NL and be forced to pay $8500 more than those in Ontario.
