i know many were worried about Jag as a brand when Tata Motors bought it, but i always felt if an owner with money bought the company, and was willing to fund it appropriately, they could still do great things...all the cars they have developed under their new ownership have been fantastic...great performance, great looks, and unique vehicles...while i don't follow this segment very closely, i don't know if reliability has improved, but my guess is it has?

anyway, kudos to Jaguar and Tata Motors for yet another great vehicle.

Are you guys nuts?  This makes me :drool:.  I mean, I won't pony up the big $ for it, and I'd want an extended warranty, but :drool: so much.

...though it'd be a nose-heavy b!tch, I'm assuming. 

Why would the V8 be a 'better fit' than the 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder?! ???

The V8 might be shorter than the 2.0L turbo 4 cylinder.  Plus the turbocharger / manifold setup need extra width.

Can't argue, but that's still mind-boggling.

I call BS on the 0-60 time.  No way 488hp breaks into the 3s.  4.x?  Sure.  3.x?  Doubtful.

Depends on weight / traction.  If they go AWD, I can't see them not breaking into the 3s, even if it is high 3s.

I remember E class AMGs for years kept increasing power significantly with little to no gain in 0-60 times.  They were stuck in the 4.X mark.  Then, they add 4matic AWD and they are in the 3.X mark.  And those are 500+ HP models that are likely heavier than what this XE will be.
