I'd just like to say that, although I've always enjoyed Brendan's writing, the last few pieces (this one and the Mustang ones) have been pure gold. Bravo.

We are bloody blessed to have B-Mac in the fold. In my opinion (and the important of a few far-more important people too) he is the single best writer in Canada.

Nice read on the 67 MGB. Thanks

These are fun cars to see on the road as long as one is not behind them.

Don't know if it's the fuel type or simply engine wear but lately I find classic cars don't burn fuel properly and give off stinky exhaust.

I owned a 1967 'B' back in the early 70s.  Drove it for three years and it was surprisingly reliable.

We need an event like this in Ontario

And there is one! Classic Car Adventures is starting a new event, in Ontario, this coming September. The Hagerty Maple Mille is our new event! Full details can be found on the Classic Car Adventures website. (It appears I'm not allowed to post an external link to it) Simply Google "Classic Car Adventures" and then under the events menu look for "Hagerty Maple Mille".

Yup, another great read from Mr McAleer. Send it on to the British newspapers, Brendan.

Don't know how you telegraphed it before writing it, but I just knew it was the fuel pump as i read on. Or maybe it's memories of 1966 and head-scratching at Scoudouc Raceway - you know, a mechanical fuel pump would have made the MGB a much more reliable car. Like the Volvo of the same era with twin SUs.
