How does the pricing of the RC-F compare to that of the M4/C63/RS5/ATS-V?
I get that the RC-F isn't as "hard-core" as some of its competition - nothing wrong with that. Like how the new GS-F isn't really an M5 or E63 or CTS-V competitor - it's really not meant to be.  But the key thing, the GS-F isn't (likely) to be priced on the same tier as those other vehicles.

But at 90K for the RC-F - isn't that the same price as the Germans?

Really love the way this car looks but that slushbox is disappointing to say the least when you are supposed to be making an M3/M4 competitor. Also 4000+ lbs....wow, thats a lot.
When Lexus explains that budgetary constraints meant that the RC-F gained weight because it uses the front end of the GS, the mid-section of the last-gen IS-C, and the rear of the current-gen IS sedan.

I'd say that's fairly inexcusable given Toyota's wealth.  Make it proper or don't make it at all.

...with that being said, they got to what, 90% of the performance?  It's just a redesign away from shedding 400lbs with the use of different materials.  Perhaps.

They just shouldn't market is as a direct competitor to the other sport coupes. In a vacuum as a GT it's fine but get's blown away when put into direct competition.

Thats the thing, don't go throwing out M3/C63 comparisons when you can't compete. Im sure that this would be a perfect car to do long miles and would be entertaining through the mountains, but given the choice between this and a C63....AMG all the way.
Lighten up Francis.....

As tested, the RC-F is nearly $90k. Even if you back out the performance package, the base price is still $82k. The base price for the M4 is $75k, and even if you add the premium package and connected drive, it's still cheaper. I just cannot imagine choosing a car that seems to be objectively worse in almost every way, yet is more expensive.

Just built a C63 for ~$78k...more power, better looks and the best exhaust noise this side of a Spitfire with a Merlin.

If outright performance in a GT package is required, the Mustang GT350 dusts the M4 with lots of money left over for mods.

If you want a prestige car that isn't a glass cannon, the RC is where it's at. The M4 continues in the long tradition of great cars when they're working, but that isn't going to be as often as a comparable Lexus.

There's an orange one rolling around here. Looks pretty good but for the front end, which is still pretty over the top.
On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

Seen this car in the flesh and it could not even do a proper burnout  ;D I'm not a fan and for that kind of coin an Audi RS 5, BMW M4, or Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG is where my money would go.

No, you saw this car on day three, when the tire fairies were yelling angry things in my ears.
This car does a sensational burnout.

I saw a very decent burn out earlier that day before the tire fairies could catch up to Jacob and his foot-made-of-dark-matter.

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...
