Beautiful to behold, but a little too old.

What happened to the sleek looking CTS sportwagon?    Wish Cadilllac would have offered a slightly raised version of it for those of us who prefer utility with a car like drive?  It was so much nicer than this ponderous looking slab of sheet metal.

I thought it was the GLE?

yeah, the GLK is absolutely NOT the proper competitor and the GLE (ML) is.

Jonathan put his sunglasses in there. I found them a few days later. I still haven’t told him.
:rofl2: cute...and expected.  Good call not posting this until today - I would have ruined the surprise yesterday.

So on balance it’s the bigger of the quartet, but has the smallest interior room. For my 5’6” frame I could still sit beside myself with ease however, so the differences are academic.
You would also fit in the 3rd row of most CUVs, which are claimed to be good enough for only children...  you're so adorable, like a little puppy or something.

The U-Rail cargo system is innovative, and would be cool on its own without the underfloor storage brace.
I actually think that looks great!  How well does it store when not in use?  Is it easy to set up?

It’s not even smooth, either; the engine is raspy and rough when prodded, which it is at all times because otherwise you will get rear-ended merging onto the highway.
:rofl2: :rofl2:

Soooo, is this supposed to be an Urban 'ute then :P?  "The power is adequate, pshhhaw!"

Nice write up!

0-60 is happens in roughly 7 seconds, which isn't exactly slow.

This certainly due for replacement though.

Currently GM is flogging this unit on BNN as a cheap lease.  Haven't been able to read the fine print though.  The AD shows a Metro Sexual walking by on a Manhattan Street with the Brooklyn bridge in the background.  The voice over says AWD at no extra charge.  The Metro Sexual then displays signs of excitement.

What an opportunity!

"We are pretty confident that in our next generation of car, we take and leverage what already has been an outstanding product success for us, and infusing it with more advanced design, particularly newer technologies, we will be highly competitive," Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen said.

Cadillac is in DEEP trouble.

Given what they've done with the ATS and CTS, I think the next gen SRX will be a fantastic product. The product isn't going to be the problem, it's the logo on the hood and the decades of baggage associated with it.
2019 Mazda 3 GS-L, 2013 Ram 1500 and an EV that cost 5 times what my Mazda3 costs but is louder with a crappier interior.

which might be a bridge too far because in one of the most fiercely competitive industries there is a limit to cost and time.  Currently, Nysschen is behaving like GM has an open cheque book and a decade to wait.

The Camaro will be built on the ATS platform in the same plant.  Should be telling.

I know this is wrong, but I've always thought of Cadillac as more of an Acura fighter than BMW/MB. Nysschen seems hellbent on douche-ifying Cadillac to the extreme. Shame 'cause I absolutely love my ATS, it's really a fantastic car. When I got it, my wife said "Cadillac??? why don't you just buy a boat????" Then she drove it.

Can't wait to see how the new Camaro performs on that platform.
