He’s attacked the subject matter with vigour, creating an action masterpiece that should be seen, weather you’re a fan of the franchise, of action movies in general, or of movies that are true to their source material, but are able to leave their comfort zone to tug on your heartstrings as well.

I think you mean whether.

One of my personal favourites from Fast Five:

But if I was going old school, I'd really want a Kenmeri C110 Skyline GT-R, if one could be found.

Also was a huge fan of the R34 and would love to have a V-Spec II Nür someday.

My vote goes to the Ford GT40 in Fast Five:

Glaring omission to the list.

In the article's defense, the GT40 was barely seen moving in the movie.

Personally, I would have liked to have learned more about the Mustang/Skyline(?) conversion in Tokyo Drift. I'm guessing they didn't bother to actually fabricate it, but it would have been interesting if they did.

I couldn't stand watching any more than a few minutes of these. They are god awful, but not in a quirky, it's bad but it's good because of it sort of way.

Also, this:

On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

^ Car movies for non-car people  :)

I've only seen the first one.  Too cheesy for my tastes, but if you like them, that's OK.
Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

For everyone who is judging the franchise on the first movie, or worse: on Tokyo Drift, this article will help you understand how it got so popular.

If you've only seen one, you're right, on it's own, it's pretty crap.
If you want to have a fully formed opinion though, feel free to open your mind a little. The article above helps explain what makes the film franchise as a whole, actually kind of good.

The problem with too many of us is we see a film about something we love (cars) and spend the next 10 years whining about how inaccurate it is, because apparently movies are usually 100% realistic at all times and nobody ever thinks they're a fictional bit of entertainment. Meanwhile, the car guys don't want to make a film because they know we'll all just scoff at the exaggerated entertaining bits, and the film companies don't want to fund one because car pedants like us are a very small group of people.

Films are fake, cars are awesome, films about cars are fake but can be awesome if you relax a little bit and actually watch them.

They did actually build that car, but I believe it was a twin turbo mill and they only used one? I know there was something that caused them not to be able to use it's full potential but can't recall what exactly. Anyways, due to the Nissan powered version being underpowered for actuial driving scenes, they used a built V8 for those cars.
They probably did a larger single turbo setup for space reasons.  The stock twin setup was parallel - 3 cylinders feed a turbo, same size turbo for each set of 3.

i haven't seen all 7 of the films, but i did see the first one (kinda cheesy), then watched the 5th one (not bad)...#6 was actually not too bad either...i'll wait for 7 to hit the free sources, but i'll see it...i do agree the earlier ones weren't that great, but i thought the last two were actually somewhat decent (no, not Oscar winning movies, but i'd give them a decent 7/10, whereas the early ones were a 2-3 tops).
When you've lost the argument, admit defeat and hit the smite button.

Fantastic car movie?  Rush.  Make a lot of money?  No.

Today, most movies that make a lot of money are pretty crappy.

My favorite car from F&F.

I will admit that I have watched all the previous 6 F&F movies, and enjoyed the movies. I know what to expect from this type of movies, parts of the movies are good, some scenes are great.

On an other note, have not seen the Titanic movie, guess I don't like boats, and cars that behave like boats.  8) :D
