My neighbor had a unicorn spec pickup.

Dodge Dually.

Diesel.

Manual!!

They were quite popular here for the oil patch.  The Cummins manual 6 spd with the 5.9L,  not dually though.

Yeah, I think Ram sold the most manual HD trucks out of the big three. They were the last to offer a manual, right up until the 2019 redesign.

Here's a 2017 2500: https://www.autotrader.ca/a/ram/2500/langley/british%20columbia/5_61675623_20101018104037485/?showcpo=ShowCpo&ncse=no&orup=6_11_11&sprx=-1&modalXS=1

Manuals generally had lower tow ratings?

If you're gonna get a RAM...this is the one you want. V10....6 spd manual...one of the coolest trucks ever made.  Yours for less than a new 2024 F150 XL 5.0 litre.

... but pretty useless as a truck, and they look like a doberwawa - the front clip is out of proportion.

I really like those, always keep an eye out for them. The Crew Cab would be the one to have though, at least from a practicality standpoint. I've seen a few over the years actually being used as trucks, and they seem pretty capable, if you don't mind the fuel bill I imagine it would function as well as any half ton from that era.

A very short one, and IIRC it can't carry/pull as much as a regular RAM, like most "pavement" performance-oriented trucks. I prefer the understated 454 SS in that genre.

Wow, that is cool. And it actually looks like an engine in there, not a collection of hoses and wires

Could see RWD being a problem in the winter, especially with all that power, but as a fun summer toy and a unique slice of history it would be great

Sure, but by that measure, a Miata is useless as a car...or should I say a BMW...but you guys keep buyin' them anyway!  ;D :stick: I would not use that as a truck.  I'd use it as a pecker-extender.  Unfortunately (for me???  :o :P ::) :hurl:) I don't swing that way because the only people you're gonna impress is the other guys...women wouldn't like it.  Not here...maybe in Alabama...in Alabama the chicks would be linin' up to try out that bed.  But again...not if it's me driving it.  Can't win...  :'( :rofl2:

An SRT10 Ram with a 6spd manual, ooffff, thats a sexy beast. Buddy used to date an, ahem, "exotic dancer" way back when and she drove a red one. What a combo, that truck and her, if I had found a genie, that would have been one wish gone lol
Lighten up Francis.....

^ Hahahah.

Blueprint, that box is just as long as 99% of the trucks out there.

Even as a GM guy even I can't deny that the 454SS was a slug, that 230hp, absolutely gutted and choked 7.4 needed a lot of top end help to get it to its proper power levels, or boost, always boost.

Neat. Funny that half of the Camrys that have been on BaT have been NASCAR race cars.
