Fun fact: The X-type shared much less with the Mondeo than most people think. It even had a different wheelbase and track. I recall reading that aside from the engine, the shared components between the two could only fill a single shopping bag. Wikipedia says they share 19% of parts.

What platform was it one. Obviously the sheet metal and interior was different but it couldn't have had it's own platform.

I've always liked the S-Type's design.

This is an interesting car and particularly clean unit.
I've only seen one of these on the road. Did they sell these in Canada or south of the border only?

One of the meanest-looking wagons to ever cruise the planet.  They'll do 170 mph, if you dare.

Haven’t met too many that cared for the Magnum when they came out, but I see a modern classic. A Hemi AWD model would be a neat daily driver.

I've found the AWD models sit too high for my liking.

A Maybach for sale at a Chrysler dealership?

Not giving that away. $190,000 is a lot for an orphan where you may have to source parts out of Latvia

Same platform as the X-type. Just not a ton of shared components.

It's a gorgeous car.  It's a little expensive.  I built one up on the MB website, and for a Maybach with the Executive Rear Seat package (which this has), you're at $300k.  So, 36% depreciation after 6 years... I was under the impression these uber-sedans depreciated quicker than that.

MY question is, though, what is it doing at a Chrysler dealership?  Doesn't seem like the kinda of car a Chrysler dealership would have picked up at auction, so perhaps it was traded in.  But on what?  Who goes from an executive Maybach to something Chrysler?

I guess perhaps the Hornet PHEV is in a similar price bracket....  :rofl2:
