The miles are low and it is overpriced. As I mentioned in another thread I have a relative who dabbles in Mercedes CLS. His summer car is a 55 AMG and the winter is a regular CLS 500. The AMG was $18k and the 500 was around $12k. Both have been rock solid for over a year. FGC+sedan+thirsty V8+ RWD is sales poison these days. ![Grin ;D](https://www.autos.ca/forum/Smileys/CarTalk/grin.gif)
The 55 actually out torques the later engines (469 HP and 516 ft.lbs) is not too slouchy. It was the last of the "great Kompressor engines) and makes more torque than the 63 AMGs. The 500 engine is basically just the N/A version. rock solid.

I'm not a fan of the CLS body style & they do tend to run a bit cheaper price wise. Does the CLS have the air ride? I can't remember now?
I keep an eye on E55's, CL55's & the CLK55. There was a nice CL-500 for sale locally, but I was too busy at the time to inquire about it. The CLK55 has the same engine as my SLK, the M113 N/A motor which is quite reliable. The E55 & CL55's have the same engine with a supercharger, but then have the air ride which is problematic. Would be nice to find one that someone has converted over to non air ride suspension.
The one I posted was neat because it's a Japanese import that we didn't have here, though the 6.3 isn't that great reliability wise
