Awesome!

I had one of these

You had one of these?  Pretty cool and not a crazy price either considering the market.  Definitely would be unique at the cars and coffee events.

Only has 39k on it!!

Ya! It had the 32v V8 before the Mustang did. And when I had mine, most of the aftermarket parts from the cobra bolted right on! So I basically had a Cobra coupe. Pearl white.

Even had cobra wheels on it.

Looked like this.

Last domestic car I owned.

Y’all may or may not know but the 97 Mark was the first American car with HID headlamps. Only BMW offered them before Ford on the 7-series.

They’re neat cars.

I got one better for you!!

The long tail light bar is literally a NEON light!!

Not sure how many other cars, if any, had neon lights.

Oh, and 1996 was the first year and they used a special bulb which is no longer in production.

So if you have a Mark VIII with a burnt out bulb...you're screwed.

My step-father had one in bright red.  Car had a few options that were premieres.  I think self-lowering suspension was one of them.  Dropped down an inch after 100km/h, or so.   :-\  It was a nice car.

He changed cars every two years.  I bet that car had barely 20k on it when it got trade for a his next.  Just my luck that the only one I ever bought was his 2003 LS-V8, which is probably the worst car Lincoln ever made.   ;D

My uncle had the V6 version. By all accounts it was a nightmare to keep on the road.

Come to think of it, that LS was how I met Shane.   :D  I first took it to get detailed at a friend of my fil and I was pissed that he put 6km on it while it was there - turns out the local Timmies is exactly 3km from his shop.  Anyway, I somehow got introduced to Shane soon after and ended up taking the car to him for a proper detail.  So, at least something good came outta owning that POS.  ;D

Tortoise, the V6 version was supposed to be quite reliable.  My good friend had one and he had no major problems with it after a lot of use, and may even still have it stashed in his old garage.  It was still there last time i visited him a couple of years ago.

They probably put a ton of miles on it, but the story that stuck out was my uncle having to operate the throttle cable by hand, and then use the cruise control to maintain a constant speed, because something had snapped.

I always liked that you could get the LS V6 with a manual. A local dealer even had a new one on the lot once.

The chassis was actually quite good for its time as well.  The V8 had lots of grunt too but unfortunately made of glass.
