I don't actually mind the interior or wheels that much. The price is a bit crazy.
I think the interior is definitely not bad considering the time period.  The wheels on the other hand...would have to go.  I don't think the price is too crazy considering how generally crazy used cars are nowadays.

Most SCs seem to have that interior. They also offered black but I think that was only in later model years.

I like the light interior too. I think most people have been conditioned to the black dark tomb look.

Man I'd love to have this.  Unique 6 cylinder, classic styling, two door, manual, AWD, and a hatchback.  Always loved the style of this generation Golf.

Called my dad and asked if he could remember this exact year.

He said "no" but recalled Honda was relatively "new" in Canada.

He said he bought it from a client of his who had a small Volvo dealership that started selling these Hondas.

He thought he paid about $3000 or so for it.

^^ I think they started selling them here in 1975 or 1976. That one does look similar to my first car a 78. It had massive 12 inch wheels.
Mine was used and was purchased in 1981 for about $2500.

I had one of those. Same colour. Gas tank leaked so only could hold 1/2 tank. Sold to a Newfie for $50. and he was heading to Vancouver Island. Cheaper than a bus ticket.  ;D This one looks a little newer so I will guess 78?

^^^ Yeah probably in Quebec . Wasn't the fuel crisis around 73 ?. Us Downeaster's usually got dealerships much later back in those days. I remember when the first  Honda's came here they were  quite the novelty. My gas tank eventually leaked as well ,we fixed it with fiberglass. Those were the days. ;D

It does indicate 73. Here is the first one sold I assume. Which is a miracle that it still exists as they rusted so quickly in Canada. https://www.daltshondaorillia.com/first-honda-civic-sold-in-canada

Former BIL had a yellow one MY1975 or 76  IIRC, so tiny (& foil can metal sheet thick) car compared to his 4 doors AMC Matador (!) who failed on him before he bought the Civic. Gas mileage saw a gigantic improvement!

Honda has a nice sample on hand, pictures are from salon auto de Montréal Jan. 2018
Gone but not forgotten in chronological order: 2019 Volt, 2013 Volt, 2014 Spark EV, 2012 Volt and many others before...

That is so cool! It makes me wonder if today's trend of every car's new model becoming bigger than the former self will be reversing with EVs, in order to use a smaller and cheaper battery pack and thus make the car affordable to all.

When I was in high school a friend of mine won $5,000 in the Olympic Lottery and he used it to buy a new Honda ( although AFAIK it was one of the early Accords.....would have been 76 or 77))

You guys like Honda's?  This is a wee Honda Accord from the 70's (at a museum in Iceland) - minty car, I bet it's smaller than today's Civic.

Little hard to get a good picture...obviously.

Also had this interesting little thing sitting in the back. Escort ragtop?  Manual too...I wanted to take it home with me.

Anywho....

Another low-mile GMT800 on BaT, this time 2900-mile 2002 Tahoe Z71. Previously bid to $33k with RNM, it's now listed with no reserve. I wonder if it will crack $30k again.

I'd love one of those but the pricing has crossed the threshold where I could convince my wife to let one be my daily driver.

That's a great truck, the exact one sold for $33K back in December, will be interesting to see if it pulls the same kinda numbers now that the market is cooling and gas is what it is.

Valuator; you can still pickup a really nice example for <$10K as long as you're OK with some miles on it....Find a salt free example from BC, or pull one up from the Southern States. If you're going to use it as a daily the mileage won't matter much, the reason they're so desirable now is because they last forever.

I think I posted a link to a Slade like yours a few weeks ago?  Was for sale in Halifax.  If another one like that pops up, I might be all over it.  Miles don't bother me....I used to work at a hydraulic shop where the sales reps drove Sierras of that vintage to over 1M KM with little trouble.
