For Bubba. Proper 1980's undercover cop machine, hubcaps and all.

I see no reason for Bubba to not buy this immediately  ;D

I can think of 4000 reasons not to buy it. OBO

$4500 - everyone's a comedian.

The no a/c and rust are a concern, and it has a few mechanical needs, but fun hobby car that won't break the bank. And this one has the 318, not the Leaning Tower of Power! Get the part numbers for all the cop parts and start bolting on!

I feel like Bubba wants the slant six, though - isn't he a self professed slant-six fan?

Going to have a look at this tonight for a possible car for the eldest junior. He thinks it’s cool and I agree. Mrs BC thinks we’re crazy.

Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

I agree that is cool.  I remember not too long ago, maybe 3 years, a local dealer had a Mercury Marauder on their lot for $8K.  I should have went to see it but I think my wife would have killed me if I came home with it.  She'd think it's an old mans car.

Haha, normally gas prices wouldn’t cross my mind, but I did pause thinking about that given where prices are going. Short answer, he’s paying for gas.  ;D

Given the way the market is here right now I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s sold before I look at it tonight.

Those are great. Mrs Dent does not like them either. I see a bit of gender divide on these. Gas prices would give me a little pause on it.

Do it! The incremental gas spend over whatever 4 cylinder option you'd be able to get for $6000 will be more than offset by the fact that you'll do almost no repairs on a low mileage late production panther like that.

Disadvantage: 4 doors so end up driving friends to parties, can't drink yourself

Advantage: big back seat

That was part of my thinking Firm, and I appreciate the push!

Generally around here 6k gets you a early to mid 2000s rusted out Mazda 3 ( or equivalent) with 250k kms on it.

The other way I look at it is that I can drive this or whatever else the kid ends up getting to work once in a while. I’ll be saving on gas over my Tundra no matter what. The kid enjoys driving my truck (in the summer anyway) so we can switch out once in a while.

That's sooo clean for a 16 year old car.    In Ontario that would have been put to pasture long ago.

I'm an expert on these!

Dad bought one every couple of years from 1979 until he could no longer buy them new. Then he bought a few more used ones until he got his Camry a couple years back.

I learned to drive on these!

Huge HUGE trunk too!

Parts, used and new, are very plentiful and are pretty easy to maintain.

These (and Town Cars) and reliable, very sturdy cars.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

The Mrs is pushing hard against this.  She's actually not happy that I'm going to look at it.  She won't be driving the car at all or footing the gas bill, so I don't know why it matters.  We are helping the kid with the purchase with him paying it out eventually, but I still don't see why it matters.

Seems odd. From what I understand they are actually fairly safe, plus having what's getting to be retro character

That being said, any kind of remotely retro American car ie 300/Challenger/Charger my wife always feels the need to let me know how much she hates them

The Vic was sold before I got a chance to look at it. It was listed less than 24 hrs. Owner said he couldn’t keep up with all the messages on it. That’s the way the market is. If there’s something decent, you gotta jump on it asap.
