Some part of me wants to load up the family and see more of North America once things get closer to normal.

My wife's family saw all the states and provinces over the course of a couple of summers when she was in junior high and HS (my MIL was a teacher).  They packed two adults and three teenagers into a Grand Cherokee for weeks at a time.  I think it kind of turned her off big road trips, but something this size would make it a more pleasant experience.
My grandpa had a starcraft conversion van for a short time. I remember it’s blue velour interior with tables, cup holders, oak trim, and a nifty sofa bed in back. I’ve always wanted one myself. The new Explorer vans are amazing inside.

Yeah, when the kids are older I'd love to take a summer or two and do something like that, and an Explorer van like that would be the way to do it.

A former coworker of mine did a cross Canada trip with his family way back in the early 90s on the way to visit relatives in Vancouver.  They drove down through the US in some areas; went to Yellowstone for example.   Took a little over 6 weeks to get to Vancouver.  His wife, four kids (two in diapers), and a dog, and all stuffed into a Chrysler minivan!!....lol   Said it was the trip of his life and they enjoyed every minute.

Wife and I have talked about doing that as well.  We looked at class-b motor homes and they are crazy expensive, especially since the pandemic started.

Back in the early '90s we had a 1985 Caravan that we took from Nova Scotia to California when we moved there for a year. Quite the trip, especially without air conditioning. The (manual) transmission went just outside of Woodstock, NB on the first day of the trip, probably because we were also towing a 5x8 Uhaul trailer.
I recall the family minivan as a kid. A 86 Dodge Caravan with the 2.6/auto. Uphills was not it’s forte. Everything including semi trucks and motorhomes passed us on the steep climbs. Makes you wonder if they ever tested these things beforehand in those conditions.

C'mon  now . Chrysler expected the general public to do the testing. Make improvements later. ;D

All joking aside I recently rented a Chrysler Pacifica to drive from Dartmouth N.S. to Toronto and back.
It was a nice vehicle, enough power for what we were carrying with surprisingly good gas mileage.
They have come a long way.

Yes! And a 318 car to boot! I can hear the starter sound in my head. Anyone know exactly why vintage Mopars had such a unique starter sound?

Geared starter IIRC.
Plus that PITA resistor on the firewall that caused all kinds of fun if it got wet made the sound of the starter a familar one.

I honestly don’t think this seller emphasized enough this **van** is a bus, it’s only mentioned 10 times in his short Ad. Bus tax?

So my neighbour's car is one of approximately 1,300. And this one zoomed to 200k USD in no time.

That's Hot! Ferrari's in non-traditional Ferrari colors seem to be kind of a fad right now, blues, greens, etc are pulling in pretty decent premiums.

^^ Basic CR-V bits applied to a shared platform at the time. Honda would have made a killing if they had sold this here! According to the comments, the import drag scene is familiar with parts interchangeability between CR-V and Civic to help with off-the-line traction.

Let's not hope for large speed differentials, that has caused issues at Le Mans.

They're supposed to be performance balanced, Bob.

But we'll see about that in race conditions.

Euro E36 M3 in mint green. This car is fantastic. https://www.pcarmarket.com/auction/euro-spec-1996-bmw-m3-mint-green/

Wow, sold for just over $66K.  It is definitely unique, not sure I'd pay that much, but I don't think it's crazy money either.

In this custom factory color, in this shape, and stateside?  Loads of them over in Euroland of course, but there are loads of cars on our shore that would be big bucks in other markets.

No, because nobody wanted that colour.  :rofl2:

Regardless, still not a $100K CAD car IMHO. It's OK if we disagree.

Well it’s not quite $100K CAD, and the market right now is pretty nuts, so that’s why I didn’t think this was overly crazy.  I do agree that I wouldn’t pay that much either, even if I think it’s a cool car.
