Euro E36 M3 in mint green. This car is fantastic. https://www.pcarmarket.com/auction/euro-spec-1996-bmw-m3-mint-green/

With it being a Euro does it mean it has the full performance or would it still be the lame ass performance that NA got with that generation engine?  Interesting color, would that have been stock?

IIRC Canada got the good engines as well, the US didn't

Canada only got the Euro-spec model for 1994 and we only got 45 of them. That was the 286 hp version, not the 321 hp version that the mint green one is. And I could be wrong but after that special 1994 model I don't think we got the M3 until 1997, when the U.S.-spec model was upgraded from 3.0 to 3.2 litres. I wouldn't necessarily call the NA model lame. It was still a great car and significantly cheaper than it would have been had we continued getting the Euro model.

I'm pretty sure that's an OEM paint job but I don't think mint green was offered as a regular colour.

OK, I knew there was more to it.
I think I remember the biggest difference was individual throttle bodies on Euro engines, I remember that was also a thing on earlier M6 cars as well.

Some part of me wants to load up the family and see more of North America once things get closer to normal.

My wife's family saw all the states and provinces over the course of a couple of summers when she was in junior high and HS (my MIL was a teacher).  They packed two adults and three teenagers into a Grand Cherokee for weeks at a time.  I think it kind of turned her off big road trips, but something this size would make it a more pleasant experience.

Man, I'd want a 40' RV for that, not a van.

^^^Some of those mustangs from the 80's and 90's are starting to go up in value.I watched the Mecum Auction last week can't remember the price but an  early 90's hatchback went for a crazy price.
Here is another collection that was sold recently last year. .https://www.mecum.com/auctions/indianapolis-2021/collections/meticulous-mustangs-and-more-collection/

A notchback went for 44 k https://www.mecum.com/lots/FL0122-486745/1992-ford-mustang-lx/

My grandpa had a starcraft conversion van for a short time. I remember it’s blue velour interior with tables, cup holders, oak trim, and a nifty sofa bed in back. I’ve always wanted one myself. The new Explorer vans are amazing inside.

Yeah, when the kids are older I'd love to take a summer or two and do something like that, and an Explorer van like that would be the way to do it.

A former coworker of mine did a cross Canada trip with his family way back in the early 90s on the way to visit relatives in Vancouver.  They drove down through the US in some areas; went to Yellowstone for example.   Took a little over 6 weeks to get to Vancouver.  His wife, four kids (two in diapers), and a dog, and all stuffed into a Chrysler minivan!!....lol   Said it was the trip of his life and they enjoyed every minute.

Wife and I have talked about doing that as well.  We looked at class-b motor homes and they are crazy expensive, especially since the pandemic started.

Same, but they are pricey.  You can get a nice class-a for less money.

Thinking it might be a good idea for us to have something we can use for road trips and then set up on our property in the country the rest of the summer.  One of my old profs that lives by me and has a nice class-b on a Sprinter chassis.  Said he only uses it once or twice a year and sits in his yard the rest of the time.  He told me a couple of years ago that he might part with it and call me first if he decides to do so but hasn't called yet.

Back in the early '90s we had a 1985 Caravan that we took from Nova Scotia to California when we moved there for a year. Quite the trip, especially without air conditioning. The (manual) transmission went just outside of Woodstock, NB on the first day of the trip, probably because we were also towing a 5x8 Uhaul trailer.

$31,000

It's the same one I had posted about and sent to Barnfinds, who ran it. Probably gave the seller a bunch of emails!

I recall the family minivan as a kid. A 86 Dodge Caravan with the 2.6/auto. Uphills was not it’s forte. Everything including semi trucks and motorhomes passed us on the steep climbs. Makes you wonder if they ever tested these things beforehand in those conditions.
