Some part of me wants to load up the family and see more of North America once things get closer to normal.
My wife's family saw all the states and provinces over the course of a couple of summers when she was in junior high and HS (my MIL was a teacher). They packed two adults and three teenagers into a Grand Cherokee for weeks at a time. I think it kind of turned her off big road trips, but something this size would make it a more pleasant experience.
My grandpa had a starcraft conversion van for a short time. I remember it’s blue velour interior with tables, cup holders, oak trim, and a nifty sofa bed in back. I’ve always wanted one myself. The new Explorer vans are amazing inside.

Yeah, when the kids are older I'd love to take a summer or two and do something like that, and an Explorer van like that would be the way to do it.
A former coworker of mine did a cross Canada trip with his family way back in the early 90s on the way to visit relatives in Vancouver. They drove down through the US in some areas; went to Yellowstone for example. Took a little over 6 weeks to get to Vancouver. His wife, four kids (two in diapers), and a dog, and all stuffed into a Chrysler minivan!!....lol Said it was the trip of his life and they enjoyed every minute.
Wife and I have talked about doing that as well. We looked at class-b motor homes and they are crazy expensive, especially since the pandemic started.
