Somebody up for a challenge? Dent needs another project, no?  ;D This wagon has not moved under its own power in 20 years according to the listing. $1,500.

It would cost a fortune, but boy would that look amazing fully restored.

1965 Dodge Dart with some upgrades.  This would be a nice driver.

There's a reason he only has headers..because everything else (intake, heads, cam, etc) is double the price of the 5.0..and difficult to work on.

Well...maybe the good part of him swapping a POS 4.6 (despite it having more HP than the original 5.0) is that a new 5.0 should be an easy bolt in, right?  Aren't they similar in size and hook up vs the old 5.0?  Make the swap to a new Coyote a more than half way there future project. And then also a 6 spd.

The 4.6L is physically much larger than a 5.0L. OHC and all that.

It's really wide, that's for sure.

I was talking Coyote - plenty of people swapping those into old Fox bodys.  Was thinking maybe the old 4.6 might have a similar girth/mounting pattern as the Coyote.  Or not.

The problem is cost.

A coyote engine is big bucks....Even used. $5k+ USD.

Then the engine mount, oil pan and special headers will run $2k usd. ECU control is another $2500.

You'd easily be into $15k all said and done...whereas $5k would have a really potent "old" 5.0..And they are ridiculously easy to work on.

Yeah, that's crazy - at that point you might as well buy a 2015+ model.  Shi# at $15k even with all the mods, you're probably better off spending a little more for a newer '15 and up car.

Kid bought his 2013 5.0 CS for under $20k 5~ yrs ago.  But...people are paying big bucks for those (stupid) old Fox's - my nostalgia would probably drop off like dead horse once I sat in one again.  I like this one from more than one aspect (IRS? 5 lugs? Looks kinda cool? Check all of the above)...but I remember when I sat in mine a couple years after selling it how I was less than impressed with its..."quality of build".  Probably get that same feeling if I sat in one now.  Nostalgia's nice and all...but a newer 5.0 is still nicer, and I could wax about it later.  When I'm dead and gone.

Nice car, and restoration, but old Porsche prices are just nuts these days.
