Was an online (and live) auction yesterday near Wpg...some "nice" stuff, some at maybe decent prices.

1975 RAM D200 440 sold! $16,500

1969 PLYMOUTH SATELLITE sold $18,250 - I'd have paid that for this if I'd have had the $ to pay for it on the spot.

1966 VW BEETLE $22,100

This may be a helluva deal for the buyer...no, it was a  helluva deal...damn I wish!!
1949 CHEVY PICKUP $20,500 - that will have cost the builder a lot more than that! (right? I mean 468 HPs??  :o ;D) Just lose the stupid fender lights, hood scoops, mirrors, fuel tank...battery...good buy otherwise.

Or this might've been the buy of the auction.
2009 PONTIAC G8 GT for $13,000

1974 MG MIDGET MARK III for $5000

1994 CHEVROLET CORVETTE $7000

I often wonder if things like the above sell. Does someone eventually come in and make a low offer that gets accepted? Or does the seller own it for life?

Don't see many of these around-and esp. in this good of condition. And a manual to boot!

Probably someone's already been there to look...

^ Cool! I've seen oddball MGB hardtops like that, but not that specific one, before. Most interesting is the treatment around the trunk lid with the whale-tail looking spoiler.

This looks familiar:

https://www.autotrader.ca/a/toyota/tundra/winnipeg/manitoba/5_52820637_200510575441706/?showcpo=ShowCpo&ncse=no&ursrc=hl&orup=9_15_21&sprx=100

That's exactly what I predicted they would list it for:  $52k.  Makes me happy I made the choice to sell it to them:  I got my money for it fast (without needing to make additional truck payments while waiting for it to sell), didn't have to spend any money or time detailing it, and don't have to eff around with all the people coming to look at it, test drive it, and offering ridiculously low numbers.  And, being a dealer, they have the opportunity to sell to more people, as they can offering financing, which is something I can't do.

Man, seeing that truck certainly makes my heart hurt a little though.  I really loved that thing.  Summer vacations just won't be the same anymore.

^^ How much is a new one ?  Around $51700 plus freight and taxes. I wonder if this crazy pricing will ever end ?
Did your truck have the the premium package, so a bit more. https://www.toyota.ca/toyota/en/build-price/tundra

The packages on today's new trucks are a little different than when I bought mine.  I think today's new price would be $52k.  Problem is there are no new Tundras to be found.  Winnipeg Toyota dealers have a combine total of ONE new Tundra - and it's a $70 000 TRD PRO.

Yes I agree they are scarce.  Just bugs me that a used one is so much money that is all. I realize it is supply and demand. One must try and hold out until this breaks ,if it ever does.

And it's not just Toyota's, but all trucks.  I've got a buddy who had a two year lease on a '20 F-150.  Nice truck:  Lariat, Crew Cab, 3.5EB, etc.  Like me, he recently decided that he didn't need a truck anymore.  He still had a year left to go on the lease, but when he went to go trade it in on a Kia Carnival, they gave him enough to not only pay out the remaining year of the lease, but have a sizeable downpayment on the minivan.

It's a great time if you already own a truck and are looking to get out of it.  If you're looking to get into a truck, well, you'd better want one really friggen badly.  And be prepared to pay above MSRP for a used one.

Mercury Mystiques are kinda rare nowadays. Pink Mystiques were rare way back when they were new (one year color I believe). V6 Mystiques represented maybe 10% of units sold. 5 Speeds were maybe 5% of them....if not less. Now a 5 SPEED, V6, PINK, Mystique HAS to be the holy grail unicorn of Mercury Mystiques.

Y'all have no idea how tempted I am to take the few hour drive to snap this ugly duckling up!

That is super cool. I've heard the V6s are horrible to work on which has always turned me off them. My father had a 4cyl/5spd Contour that was a hoot to drive.

These were fairly new when I worked for Ford (I started in late 96). I got to drive ONE 5 sp V6 countour. It was a blast, in fact I preferred it to the boss’s SHO. That was the one and only V6 manual copy we ever saw at that store. 95% were 4cyl autos with the occasional V6/auto.
