Everyone raves about the e30 M3, but I love this totally mundane 318i.

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1991-bmw-318i-31/

95,000 miles.

Too bad it's not an is but I think those might only have been coupes and 'verts.

Here's a nice 325is: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1987-bmw-325is-85/

So much curvy goodness.

5k-Mile 2013 Dodge SRT Viper GTS Launch Edition
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2013-dodge-viper-srt-9/

I'm always impressed with how well these things have kept their value. This is obviously a very desirable example, but I thought that many Vipers languished on lots and were sold with steep discounts. I could be misremembering things though.

Anyways, hardtop Vipers with this color combo have always been my favourite going back to the 1996 GTS.

I'll never forget the first time I heard a Viper fire up.  That sound!

That sound.... yeah, like a tractor and an industrial HVAC system made a mechanical baby.

Love the looks of this R8.

https://www.autotrader.ca/a/Audi/R8/Concord/ON/5_50223147_20160825131530432/?loc=L4K3E8&gclid=Cj0KCQiAst2BBhDJARIsAGo2ldVFiLoqjcS2YDn-ErQ_R_ekfPlmKUAqFU20LHDUEFp_kWng9r-_QRAaAllcEALw_wcB

Too bad it's not a manual though.  :P  The sound of that V8 all wound up just behind the head would be amazing.  I never liked the looks of these when they first came out but they have grown on me over the years.

Are those TT-RS wheels? They don't look great.

I like the R8, it looks good, but I think I'd get bored of it fairly quickly. It's just too competent.

Truth be told, it's more a GT than outright sports car.  And, if that's the segment you prefer...competent is good.

Would make a great year round daily driver (coupe)...instead of a 911 for example.

How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

True.  For that though (not that fast, good looking cars) I'd rather get a Maserati GranTurismo Sport. And it would fit the dog.  :rofl2:

Yeah a must have would be that awesome gated manual transmission, plus I bet those will hold their value longer.  What surprised me about the R8 is just how small it looks in real life.  I swear it's not much bigger than a TT.

It would likely be in the shop more than the Audi though.   ;D

And with RWD, might not be a truly year rounder...if that's what you're looking for.

I love the fact that it's just an i, plastic wheel covers and all.  Enthusiasts never care about the entry level cars, which ends up making nice examples super rare.

Those wheels were optional on the R8 I believe.

'Easy Park' option, saves a foot and a half  :)

I see the plastichrome is peeling off the interior too, just like our '79 Supercab.

I'm not looking for anything. Anyone with common sense can drive RWD all year round.

I do not always have common sense, but have been just fine in Ottawa winters with the IS300 and XJR so far...top shelf winter tires are key.
