This car brings back a ton of great memories for me.  I had an '82 Civic 1500GL, with the same powertrain, that I would love to have back.  $8k with 5 days to go!

I got my licence in '84 and my Mom's car was a 1981 Civic Wagon, same face, bumpers and 13" wheels as this one. I think I wire wheeled and resprayed those rims on a yearly basis. I polished the thing so much it did not rust for the six years we had it.

Carbon copy of the one I rented on a Vegas trip in 2007 (but rental was automatic of course). Cooler than a beige Stratus, 75$ a week unlimited miles. Drove through Death Valley and Valley of fire. Sweet memories! My name is Blueprint and I approve of this listing. GLWTA!

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

I'm stunned that a non-turbo PT is on BaT.

I liked these things at the time - better in person than in pics. Speaking of pics, these aren't terrible. Having spent a week with an identical rental, this paint shade is gorgeous.

5-speed manual + higher trim + low miles = unicorn? No Reserve was probably a requirement.

I love PT's quirkiness inside and out.

A close friend who is a hiker, biker and car-camper had a PT, and loved it for its cargo capacity.  It finally died a few years ago.  Definitely a quirky design.

I actually like the PT Cruiser. That said they look horrible for any engine work required.

Brother in law  had a base 5 speed manual. It was  good for him.  Lots of cargo space as has been mentioned.

Friend of mine had one for his computer business when they first came out.  Called it the IT Cruiser and drove the thing for years.  He thought it was perfect for the purpose.

I'd take the Honda Element over the PT Cruiser.

I'd take a rusty bucket full of excrement over a PT cruiser...

Yeah, I'm a Chrysler slappie, but I'm still going to add my two cents.

I really liked the PT Cruiser when I first had a look at it.  I thought the styling looked great.

I've driven a few over the years and always found them comfortable on long trips.  The seating position was good and visibility was excellent.  The non-turbo, auto models returned about 28 mpg at 75 mph on the Interstate.  Lots of room to haul stuff.

A friend owned a PT while I owned a Sebring with the same powertrain.  We went to the drag strip and had a best-of-three match race.  Both cars ran within thousandths of a second of each other on all three runs.  Amazing how well matched they were.
