aww yeah, American workhorse with the 75mm. Great infantry support tank, fairly useless against German armour in '44. Need the 76mm with the better round to punch through Panthers.

Still awesome to see. Loved working on one at the CWM a couple of years back...and I might again in the near future  :shuffle:

How does 1mm make a difference in ammo that size?

I suspect the 76mm had a longer tube   and could use a bit bigger charge.   That famous German 88 was an adapted AA gun and had a long barrel for that reason.

Yes makes all the difference in muzzle velocity and the ability to hit "harder." The 75 is stubby with a lower muzzle velocity, the 76 is a long barreled gun with much higher muzzle velocity and range. Also used better ammunition to pierce armour.

Diameter usually just signifies the weight and explosive mass of a shell (post pen with armour piercing ammunition). For example, the Russian 57mm hits a lot harder than the 76mm. Over penetrating German tanks in many cases early in the war, which is why they went with the 76mm and then 85mm as workhorse tank guns. The 57 was rushed back into production in 43 when they came up against Tigers and Panthers, which were bouncing the 76mm and 85mm (at range) reliably.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

The TR6 is on unleaded of course but the smell really brings you back to the '70s! Still has the smog kit despite the SU conversion - owner was a Californian at the time.

I like these old Mopars...
1964 Plymouth Fury - (reduced) $21,000  :P
https://www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars/calgary/reduced-1964-plymouth-fury-for-sale/1505301789

Nice interior too...

Anyone a big TR7 fan?
1978 Triumph TR7 - V8 $15,000
https://www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars/calgary/triumph-tr7-v8-for-sale/1503500797

Oooooohhh...I also love this...1969 Mercury Cougar - $25,000, only a few more BaT pennies than the old Dodge...
https://www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars/edmonton/1969-mercury-cougar/1532708790
408 stroker in it.  Should be plenty fast enough.

How about a '63 Impala project - for $20 bills...ouch.
https://www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars/calgary/1963-impala/1535531437
Looks cool  O0

Until you have to leave... :P

Nothing's cheap...I would've thought with all the shi# happening prices would eventually come down to reasonable...but they're not.  Still, all kinda in the same ball park $-wise (save for the TR7 I guess) - so for just under $26k, anyone want an extended cab 72 C10? (did they ever make an extended cab?)
https://www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars/edmonton/1972-chevrolet-c10/1535477244

For all the money people want for old cars...I wonder if you wouldn't be better off buying the newest Porsche for the same money...I mean neither will probably depreciate, much, but the Porsche might be a better driver.  Or get the newest/best 5.0/SS/Challenger/Vette in that price bracket.

Or fack it, just keep dreaming about all the shi# you'll never own because well, you're not a baller, and aint got nowhere to park more shi# as it is.

I wonder if that MazzdaSpeed Miata is still for sale...it'd fit in the garage...hmmm...

If my '87 sedan was as rust free as that one I'd still have it.  :(   The body didn't rust, everything else did though.

I wouldn't call it the holy grail, it's nice, and the price is right. But they look so much better on the outside than the inside.

There used to be a nice TWR one near me, guy drove it all the time.

I do like them, but it would have to be the TWR to make me buy it.

^^ BaT = auction, so 150k USD is only the beginning...

Only 280 made! Watch the driving video - the guy got it to 130 mph in no time  :cp2:
