I am a supporter of FWD, if it is done right. My Alfa and Saab drove great, as did my JCW MINI. In many ways I preferred the handling in my Alfa to the RWD in my Lexus.

I would not discount a vehicle if it was FWD, as long as it was done right and fit the character of the car.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

These two blasts from the past have recently shown up on Ottawa-Gatineau Facebook Marketplace.

Ya gotta love Western Canada used cars - Labrador can be a goldmine for old, (relatively) rust-free, everyday-hero vehicles as well.

It's Thunderbirds Thursday!!

Another sweet engine swap...the engine alone probably cost as much as the car. If nothing else, but why? - you can swap most or all of the good stuff over to a Fox body, probably even the IRS...say a 79 Fairmont wagon or something... ;D
https://www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars/barrie/1994-thunderbird-supercoupe-408-cleveland/1527040960
1994 T-Bird with a 408 swap...$9000.  And it's a manual!

No?  How about a low km stock example then?
https://www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars/london/1990-ford-thunderbird-sc/1530764230
$9900 and only 84,000 km!  And he's not insane - there are other guys - "rare! hard to find! etc. etc." (and good luck getting parts for these now too!) and they want crap loads more.

Still not your cup of T?  Maybe black...and classic...ish.
https://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/bridgewater/2002-ford-thunderbird-standard-must-go-make-an-offer/1374920380
2002 T-Bird - $18g.  I wonder if this would even be kinda cool...I never hated these.  I thought Ford did a nice job on the styling...was the era of all those retro inspired factory builds.  How can that be a bad thing?

Hell I'd drive that.

Lastly, maybe an early 70's model is to your liking.
1971 to be exact. 20 yrs newer than AB...and probably no worse looking either!  ;D
https://www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars/city-of-toronto/1971-ford-thunderbird/1527474594
A little pricey at $17,300...but cool 70's styling.  Inspired by Jamie Farr no doubt...

That last thunderbird is nice!

It is!  I like it more than I thought I would.  The five-spoke wheels look good on it.

That red 1990 S/C Coupe is by far the most attractive to me. The 2000s one is gross and the 70s one is way too expensive.
Lighten up Francis.....

That vehicle is in my shop. We did the restoration on it. I have driven it. Not my style.

And all those photos were taken out behind our wash bays.

Honestly cant wait for it to stop taking up a hoist. Took forever to get it road worthy.

So your shop is the Ottawa one that keeps selling interesting vehicles on BaT? Or just the one servicing this big kitty?

Yeah being part of a high end dealer network, stuff comes through here. Owner is eclectic. Took these standing in one spot right now:

I prefer the '77 & '78 front end, but that's minor.  Fantastic looking car.

Nice toy box! The "seller" on BaT hinted at a project-grade Super Beetle...

Go for it!!
i used to do the same thing but then I decided that we have alot of cars here that Europeans like so I might as well focus on what we have here and not lust after the unattainable.

I would if I had the $$$.

While cars like this come up on BaT, etc., when good ones come up in Germany, you can be pretty sure they are safe and solid.  The German technical inspection is brutal.  That BMW, though, is in the Netherlands...

Spending time on these sites is a curse of being able to read and fully understand French, German, Croatian, and Serbian...

I imported a Karmann Ghia from the Netherlands. Bought on eBay.
