^^ The QC Trans-Am has 177 000 km but 85 000 on the modded engine. Explains the deal a bit  ;D

Yep. Basic LT1 4th gens don't command the $ that the SLP or LS1 (or SLP LS1) cars do. $8500 is a fair price for that, but I wouldn't consider it a deal....There's about a dozen on my local kijiji in that price range (LT1 T/As and Z28s) to choose from.

The 97 SS is more interesting to me... 97 is my favorite year for 4th gens (pre-face lift exterior, updated interior, final year for the LT1), and SS cars a pretty rare (under 2000 built I believe, all numbered and tracked in a registry). Price is decent too....I sold mine (which was also a 30th anniversary package car, but automatic vs. the 6-speed in this one) for the same money 3 years ago.

So that makes that one a pretty good deal (in the eye of the beholder) considering the stroker kit etc etc.  This one would be a Ram Air car?  So not your bread and butter SS too, right?

Could I live with an automatic? I really want a Corvair and this one looks reasonable. No price which usually means the seller is delusional.

I really like Corvairs too, wouldn't want to hammer it down twisty lanes though...  :rofl2:

In '65 Chevy had changed to true independent rear suspension in the Corvair and not the scary-ish swing axle design, unlike Triumph, who continued on with it for several more years

Rear suspension is very similar to the Corvette of the same year.

All of the SS cars were Ram Air...but yeah, it would have the factory (not the common illfitted aftermarket knockoff) Camaro ram air hood and air cleaner assembly. IMO the stroker kit and other junk doesn't add any real value....nice to have if you're into that, but personally I'd rather have a stock unmodified example.

Probably the only car I've sold over the years that I really miss:

An acquaintance is selling this: 2000 W210 E55 AMG - the real deal, not a modded E-Class. BaT turned the car down. 156 000 km, asking 15 555$ (TheHire - any garage space left?  ;D)

The same acquaintance is also selling a much tamer relative of the AMG: a 1996 E300 diesel with 294 000 km for 9 300$ - cue the Berlin taxi comments!

He's selling his car collection one vehicle at a time, many were listed on BaT with much followed auctions.

Two of his upcoming listings are shown here. Missing is a Rolls that will be prepped in the spring! This is the Fiat Barchetta I mentioned in another thread.

Yeah, the wheels look outta place as well, but those are easier to replace than having to fix the trunk lid after removing that spoiler  :o  And tint can be removed with a heat gun, so another easy fix.

Price seems a bit much though. You can get a V12 of that gen for $15k with relatively low KMs. https://www.autotrader.ca/a/mercedes-benz/cl-class/pickering/ontario/19_11660360_/?showcpo=ShowCpo&ncse=no&orup=14_15_36&sprx=-1

While this was the top dog, I'm sure I could get by with the CL-600, CL55 AMG or even the CL-500  :rofl2:

The one I posted above would be a lottery buy for me to have as a collector car... so rare!!
