PINZGAUER!!! I love the way the 6x6 versions look.

Haven't seen a real oddball like this on BaT in a while.

That's hardly an oddball when there's also an armored Alfa Romeo Alfetta 2000 on BaT.  :P https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1980-alfa-romeo-alfetta/

So its got a rinky dink 4 cylinder engine which combined with the extra bulk of the armor will make you unable to runaway from people on foot plus being an Alfa, most likely when you turn the key you will get smoke from under the dash. I thought these cosanostra types were supposed to be smart.
Lighten up Francis.....

The year I got my licence, my Dad bought a Chrysler E-Class demo, a stretched K-Car at its core. We got Reliants as service loaners, drove a few of them. Despite all the bashing, they were practical little things, with seating for six on a very small shadow, they were comfy and fairly good on fuel...and in snow too. Fast? No, just very competent and cheap basic transportation for the masses, and they were less rust-prone than the Japanese offerings of the time.

I think my dad paid less than that for a Reliant when it was like 4 or 5 years old. Thats insane that someone looks at a K car with lust.......

I would actually rock one of those K-Cars.  It's cool in an ironic way, and most people who are my age (mid 30's) or older have some sort of memory in them.  My childhood bestfriend, his grandma had an Aries, and she would drive us to cadets in it.

I wouldn't go so far as to say I would daily it, as it probably isn't too reliable (especially carburetted, as it is), but I would treat it as a sort of weekend classic car for occasional trips.  Finding a clean example would be key.  These cars were throw-away cars, so nobody actually thought to keep one in good condition.  The one for sale here appears to be an exception.

I could see maybe one of their turbo, mid 80s variants, but the K car, nope.

You're wrong.  The more basic and simple, the better.  The whole reason these cars are cool now, is because they were so uncool when they were new.  Finding a special edition, powerful version would be defeating the purpose.

I had two K-cars. The fuel injected one was so much better. They are a nice usable size of car.

I had an 81 2door  4 spd manual. It was good for what it was. They were as others have said very roomy for their size. A basic box on wheels.

Just about every car Chrysler produced during that era was based on them. So many of the parts were interchangeable including the struts among

models. A Dynasty shock will fit on a Shadow  for instance.

I recall seeing a picture of an Aries with the Daytona turbo engine and suspension.  Chrysler engines were using it for testing.  A turbo K-car with about 200 hp would be fun.

BaT has ran a few K's lately, and not in this banana pudding colour either! Our '84 E-Class had the FI 2.2 with the 3-speed auto and we had no mechanical issues with it over the 6-7 years we kept it. The very basic am/fm radio was replaced 2 or 3 times on warranty, that was pretty much it. A clean fuelie K-Car with the updated end caps would make a nice, cheap and solid "classic" for cruising around. Compared to period competition - Tempaz and x-Cars, it has a cachet of sorts, like a Radwood-era Valiant.
