That Stingray would make a great Sunday Cruise car.  You don't necessarily need it to be a good handler, or even fast.  Just take a nice, leisurely drive on a Sunday for some Ice Cream, or to a car show, or whatever.  It probably makes a nice noise, though.

I've driven one that looked just like to one pictured.  It had a 454 with side pipes and 4-sp manual.  It was a short test drive a loong time ago not long after i got my license so don't remember all the details but it wasn't good at all.  It was like driving a low slung truck with bad suspension and horrible sight lines.  It was no sports car and not great for a leisurely drive in the country.  Not unless you consider teeth gnashing a leisure activity!  ;D

I grew up in the era when you could pick those things up relatively cheap (late 70s - mid 80s) and there was a reason they were cheap.  I love the looks of 60s and 70s era muscle cars but i wouldn't own one now unless i had the money to resto-mod one.

Nightmare!     The 2.slow engine  and dubious electronics.     The Mk5 GTI which started in 2008 would be ok.  I had one for 5 years  and it worked well and didn't go wrong.

The 2.slow is at least a reliable boat anchor - GTI's and VR6's of that era, well...

This Golf has a stick, is in impeccable shape and features the top trim - a bit of a unicorn.

A friend is selling his 2008 Corvette.  Asking $29,000.

You should see it in person.  He's brought the car to work a few times.  Only on sunny days, of course.

Why does $29K feel very expensive for that...?  Is it just me?

Weren't they virtually giving away C6's in the US as the C7 came in. (I know it's CAD etc..)

There's only one cheaper 2008 Corvette on AutoTrader, and it's only cheaper by $500. Still does seem a bit pricey just because of the higher miles.

This isn't the 'new civic could beat an old Ferrari' argument though. These are so bad handling that they are barely drivable, parts aren't gonna fix sh!t.  Buy a non-runner and just admire it from afar.

I'd be game for that.  ;D  Like I said, never even been in one of those old Vettes...only ever had a ride/drove the new C7 when it came out. Short drive.  I could really live with that quite easily too.  I just think the 68-72 cars are more fun to look at.  I guess I can always change my desktop background - cheaper than even a non-runner.

Still like the design, and that colour. Hate the rims though.

I can stand the standard C6. I find the look of the C6 grand sport and ZO6 just right.

Posting this for the memories...

Nice!  I've mused to my wife about selling the Z3M to try something else and she still mentions the SLK.  Gotta be the SLK55 AMG though.   :skid:
