So, I wonder how the scam works? You contact this private seller in Toronto, who obviously has no car for you to look at or buy, then what? He talks you into giving him a deposit or something?

A fellow at work had one years ago in that colour. The rust eventually killed it.

A friend of mine has a 1990 presently but is thinking of bidding on this one. It looks to be in much better condition than his.

He is a Nissan Hardbody slappy.

Normally I don't like red on a truck, or any big vehicle for that matter, but the shade Nissan uses looks pretty good.  I looked at a 2019 Frontier in red and liked it but was more money than i wanted to spend. 

That one looks really good for its age.  When I talk to former Nissan truck owners about half of them got rid of theirs due to rust and the other half due to fuel mileage.

13k$ on day later, I fully expect it to reach triple that ... at least. It has been mothballed, only 800 miles on the odo, even has the original - and cracked - tires.
