That’s awesome!

Last summer someone parked one of those at the edge of a farmer's field near our cottage, last time I drove by I noticed it's still there, sunroof is open.

I'm really digging this as a daily driver... tasteful mods, would sound amazing and should be reliable for years to come.

For what it will sell for, I'd rather a 996 TT for true year round daily driver.

BTW...that car is set up almost like I had mine...I was mostly just missing the SSI heat exchangers.

How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

I can't past the looks of the 996, I'd rather have this or a 997. This would put a smile on my face every time I go near it, a 996 not so much. This has more character and appeal to me. The 996 TT is a much better car in every way, and a huge bargain right now as well.

I dunno....I've driven a chipped 996 TT before and looks or not it put a bigger smile on my face than my 86.

500hp/500tq has a way of doing that....

That 87 911 has a G50.  Best of the 80s vintage aspro 911s by far.

I want that one AND a 996 TT.

Shopping for one, prices are creeping up on BAT, here on Autotrader & Kijiji, as well as well as the PCA website.

Buy a 996 TT and just do the 997 retrofit front end.

Problem solved!!

A 996 update isn't a bad idea actually.  The 996TT is soooooooo much car - the chassis is superb.  Resale probably wouldn't reflect the cost of the mods, so I'd only do it to a keeper car, but that platform can provide a lot of fun over time thanks to the huge amount of untapped potential in it.

And they've shown to be damn near bullet proof.

Those TT's might be one of the best Porsches built in terms of being robust.  Issues are minor.
