I don't need another MGB, nor do I want to drive to Windsor, but this is a decent looking original car for the $. If someone was looking for a simple project / flip this would be a nice start.

Edit: year is obviously not correct...this is a 77-80

Wow. That's a nice GS. Seems like a steal with only 110k km on the clock.

Really nice looking car, way outside my price range though...too bad would rock that in a heartbeat.

Beginning my search for a replacement winter car for the Saab. It is getting to that time with over 250,000kms and I am afraid something big will be going soon. Also the wife might take it in the (now likely) divorce. Regardless, this probably will be its last winter with me.

This looks nice

If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

I really want one in a manual, can't find one. Unsurprisingly, the ones with the manuals are holding onto them. Also, they command a premium. It will be a winter car as well, cheap is nice.

Help me find one then please.

Edit: OK this looks nice. Add a windshield and it might be a good beater. Been modified though...

Saab has horrible rust and is no better than the one I am driving...there are rust-free(ish) ones out there.
Volvo is non turbo and terrible colour. Ugh.
The A3 looks decent honestly.
The A4 looks OK too except the exhaust leak, that could be big money. Also old 1.8Ts are just terrible for rubber decomposing and the entire vac and PCV system needing to be replaced. Not an if, but when. Brother had two 1.8Ts, never got them to run right.

Thanks for looking though.

Do a road trip back with this one. Looks nice.

it does look like it is in great shape considering its mileage and age, but if I am being picky-daydreaming: it is A 36 HOUR DRIVE, one way. Also, it is a LPT base model, so not a lot of power (<175hp IIRC) and certainly not "fully loaded" as the ad claims.

Lots of choice within 500kms of Ottawa for a winter car. But thanks.

This is fun, not sure what your max budget is, but here's a few more  ;D

this is fun indeed!

budget would be about $6k max

I hate Acura seats, never can get comfortable in them, and the styling is meh for me. Plus, it is underpowered with a buzzy 4cyl. Other than an S2000, I am not a fan of Honda 4cyls at all. Needs a turbo or V6.
I do like that Lexus. That would be the sensible choice, although RWD in a winter car I am worried about (yes I know Firm etc. winter RWD muscle cars...I never have).
Both those Caddys have not aged well at all, and also are RWD. I do like GM reliability though, simple tech that is cheap to fix. Still, not sure if I could get past the styling...

But still, I am trying to keep an open mind here...despite my very eccentric taste.

I ran a RWD Mazda Pickup for a few winters, including one in the interior of BC.  With good tires it's non-issue.
