It's still a small market.  And a very unusual car might take serious effort to sell.

Yep..that's why I said for the 3 people who care...this is a great deal!   ;D
yes, I agree it is a small market, but within that market it is not hard to sell these things...they are rare, they are usually in fantastic shape or else they are not even imported, and usually tended with care by the dealer/owner. I bought my 155 with 2 other people looking at it, and a friend bought his Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo, same one I drove and was looking at, a week later with also a number of people looking at it. Within small grey market communities there can be fierce competition.

Regardless of all that, it is still a cool car that is miles more interesting than 99% of the crap that is out there.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Well yea.  When there's only 1 car and 3 people who care....the competition will be fierce!    :rofl2:

well it is a bit of a deal actually, considering in the UK these are going, RHD mind you, for 25k POUNDS. It also has been imported and made legal here.

Those are the newer models though, aren't they? I looked at a value guide and the early models were topping out at 17.5k Pounds, or about $30k CAD.

I think the 2nd gen were the ones to have, weren't they?  More power and better handling?

Moving to replace the truck.  Want something AWD/4X4.  It'll be used to haul stuff and go camping.  Don't want to spend much.

Good deal, or time-bomb?

^^ I think that's a fantastic deal @ $3800. Pretty bulletproof unit that seems well looked after.

I've seen these engines with a bazillion miles on them. Seem to last forever if maintained.

That truck would be $3K more here.

The 4.7L engine is basically indestructible unless horrendously neglected.  The 4X4 system is great, and the V-8 models have the AWD mode, making them really nice in the winter on poor roads.

A true body-on-frame SUV that's probably the most reliable ever made.

Downside?  The 4.7L is thirsty.  Very thirsty.  It's going to use 17L/100km in city driving, more if you're a lead-foot.

That would be less than the truck. It'll see ~10k per year.

The V8 also has a timing belt which should have been changed twice with those kms.

Edit: Just saw it was changed at 220k so it's good to go for a bit.

Weird that belt was 1st changed at 148k & then at 220k, but guessing that when they had to do the water pump they just did the belt since it was opened up. Mileage is at 330k now, so guessing the belt should be done in the next 30k?

apparently a solid rule is once you touch the timing belt, put a new one on - never reuse a belt

learned that with my Alfa service

No '32 Ford was hurt in creating this life-size Revell hot-rod - it was built from new parts in 2013 from what I read, body is fiberglass. My mentor for my most excellent sideline has a very similar car to this one, except with fenders and a deeper, metallic red.
