You guys got me wondering about minivan pricing. Just looked on Chrysler.ca, the bloody base Caravan is $47K?!?!?!?!? WTF?!??!?! What happened to the $20k Canada value one. A Pacifica with AWD is well into the $60s, insane. What happened to cheap family vehicles?!?!?!
Lighten up Francis.....

They're gone.  Another hurdle for middle-income families to deal with.  The days of spending say $30ish K after tax for a new family vehicle are over....now you're spending that for an out-of-warranty Traverse and you'll be lucky if it's less than 10 years old by time you finish paying for it.   I would not want to be a young family just starting out these days....in 2019 you could buy a nice semi-detached or townhouse here in NB for $150k to $175k and buy a reasonably priced family vehicle.  Now it's $300k minimum, at higher interest rates, and with a complete disappearance of new, affordable small cars or basic vans.  I don't think it's out of line to say that the cost of housing and a vehicle has doubled here in the last 5 years.

Housing has been pretty decent here, compared to other places in Canada that aren't some far flung town of 500 people 6 hours away from population, but cars have just gone insane. I feel bad for all our friends that have kids that are turning 16 and looking to buy a car. The days of a reliable beater being a few thousand is long gone, now for $3k you get a vehicle thats one foot in its kidney car foundation grave.

Even lower than that,  not that long ago (5 years maybe)  You could get a small duplex in Moncton for below 120K.

Or that? (2010 BMW 650i)
Also $29,000

And since verts spend most of their time in a garage staying out of the damaging sun...I'd get the BMW.  FGC be damned.

That is amazing. The Subaru engine is a nice engine upgrade. You'd miss out on the aircooled Beetle engine noises which would be no great loss. The 5spd is a nice bonus too. I'd skip the yellow headlights but just about perfect otherwise.  8)

This is a 12-incher on the Bubba Woodie Scale®.  Whoever ordered this car, knew what they were doing.  Hemi, 4-speed, DANA 60 rear end, cold air intake, great colours.

I'm not a fan either of the looks of that Charger. Ugly colour too.

It's called butterscotch.
I prefer the 1970 Charger, but I don't find this one ugly.  Maybe it would look better with body colour bumpers.

For me its the proportions are all wrong. Especially above the rear wheel. The body looks too thick, the wheels too small. This makes the tail section too long. The window behind the door is odd shaped. It is sort of like a cheap knock off version of a Charger. But that is just me.

1971 Satellite looks better IMO

The gen-3 Charger's odd C-pillar was modified later and the more recent treatment looked better - but the nicer engines were gone at that point.

I liked them, and so did King Richard:
