Lol, it would be foolish to get rid of it, and I have no intent to, as I said, I'll probably keep running it until something dramatic happens to it. Especially since I am WHF, spending money on anything else is just poor financial management. I do rust check it, just had it done last month, and I use the aerosol cans of rust check spray to touch up areas where the protection wears off every time I wash it.

A lot of them got tarted up with the 'Florida package' stuff. Carriage roof, fender trim, grilles, etc. All terrible. Mine has an aftermarket E&G grille, I originally planned to replace it with an OE unit, but the look kinda grew on me. E&G stuff is very desirable with the pimp crowd, lol, and it's really well built - I could probably buy a half dozen good used OE grilles for what I could eBay the E&G unit for.

I see plenty of those in Detroit.

Must be a cultural "bling" thing.

That's what I would do too. You know what you have. keeping it rust free just makes sense especially in the Eastern Canadian climate. As long as it is not a Money Pit in other areas .

Yep, not many in the GTA, but every time I am in Detroit I see a few. Strangely enough, I saw three, one really tarted up with a big wing, over the 2 days I was in Ottawa last week.

I mostly see canvas "Landau" tops..usually in striking colors! Red and blue seem most popular.

Most of the stuff I see is aftermarket....on cars that didn't have it as a true factory option. I mean..it's pretty obvious (ie flamboyant) that it didn't come that way from the factory.

I didn't realize Nissan produced an inline 6 that long ago. Sort of assumed it would be powered by an even weaker small 4 banger .

 Speaking of Nissan inline 6s . 73 240z original owner in N.S .https://www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars/truro/1973-datsun-240z-for-sale-by-original-owner/1642842614?undefined

A friends son has a 72. It was a basket  case from California. Now totally restored by he and his dad. Converted to fuel injection for better drivability.

Yea, the cool thing about these is the later fuel injected engines fit right in with minimal fuss.

A friend of mine sold his about 4 years ago, I think he got 10k.  I kept telling him he was nuts to get rid of it.

He did it the hard way I think...LOL

But some guys dig that.

Someone from this forum texted me some time ago about a complete Datsun Z.  Asked me about value.  Told them to ask DOUBLE what they were asking.  And if IIRC, they got it.

He is a 25 year old engineer. It was a challenge he wanted to do it.  He and his dad did the complete car they even built the rotisserie and sandblasted the body.
