More Firebird fantasies on BaT:

This one I built the MPC 1:24 version of:

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1979-pontiac-trans-am-31/

Only year for the 6.6 litre with Turbo wheels, great colour combo and very disco silver leather & vinyl  O0

This one is notable for what it has under the hood:

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1967-pontiac-firebird-9/

This is Pontiac's era-unique SOHC straight six. MPC's 1st-gen Trans Am kit also had the six as a build option.

Just like any other kid that grew up and watched smoky and the bandit, I want a T/A to live out my Burt Reynolds fantasies, but to me, this was the best looking Firebird

Fob, this auction ends in one day  :stick:

I like how clean-looking the Esprit from that era is.

Better cash in your empties before you bid on this one.

Current bid: $1,025,000.

Two MGB's firmly in dent or firm territory:

GM V6 / automatic conversion, asking is 2,275$. No words on the state of the car, but it's plated at least.

1976 "Revell Edition"  ;D, stalled projet with plenty of boxes of new stuff. Asking is only 3k$.

That plate looks bogus.

We don't have front plates in Quebec - that one up front is just an accessory one picks up at Crappy Tire. Other pics show a current plate in the back.

Gotta love a car for sale with an engine swap ... and no photos of the engine. That 60 degree V6 is a nice fit in Bs. The autobox would not be my choice though.

Yeah, there are a lot of MGB's running that conversion, would love to try one someday as I am a fan of the old GM 60 deg. No engine bay shots is a terrible way to advertise a car with a swap though, and those seats are crap, but the body looks very solid.

A lot of the low cost engine swap adverts have something like:  "Project car, 90% complete, just needs a little TLC to finish up"

That remaining 10% ends up taking 90% of the time and budget of the entire project.

Indeed. It is actually reasonably easy to physically bolt an engine in to an engine bay. Its buying or fabricating mounts. But to get the driveshaft angle, hook up the clutch, fuel lines, etc is where the difficulties lie.

1970 BMW Garmisch concept car designed by Gandini (Miura, Countach). I don't know if I've ever seen it before. Funky.

That Gull Wing is amazing. Wow.

I’d like to see the bill for the injector pump rebuild.  Five figures for sure and I bet a shocking amount.

BaT mentioned they're going to lose money if its stays where the bidding is at the moment. Yes, it's their own car that they sent through a thorough - and pricey - resto.

Yeah, they had fantastic work done by the right people - it's not a big stack of bills, but some of them are going to be pretty eye-watering amounts.

Let's see it from this perspective: the guy actually built his own car in a world where most people don't know what a torque wrench is.

Some people put not enough in an ad...and then there's that guy.  He's a feckin' writer I take it?  Jeez if I wanted a car review... :P  That hits the TLDR button to the max.

For which I counter with these two - so less wordy, they could've done more.
1975 Mercedes Benz $5000

And...I should call this guy, this'd be cool right?  Cooler than that Porsche.  Faster too, and it'd sound good. Tells you only what you need to know and 1 picture.  At least he didn't get all artsy with one of those stupid 3/8th view with the camera held at a 39.875° angle...hate those heifers. I mean effers.
1996 Ford Mustang Mystic Cobra $6995 - and less than the Porsche too.

Never mind that it's a rebuild.   :P
