Ahhh, rear window louvers.  Wonder if they'll ever make a comeback.   ;D

They're alive and well on Lambos.

Didn't really need to know that, but thanks.   ;D

We had an ‘82 5-door Citation with the X-II H.O. 2.8 (135hp) engine in it.  Gave us no real trouble until ‘89...

Fun fact - a Citation served as a mule during the development of the Volvo 850.

I was a teenager and managed to talk my father out of buying an X-11, thank gawd.  He bought the decidedly "less sporty" and much, much more reliable and well built Accord instead.  The most expensive Accord money could buy was about $3K less than the Citation, and that seemed to do the trick - the appeal to his wallet.

Quite a bit more.  Three grand back then was a lot of dough.

My FIL went from a 245 to an 850, and the 850 was junk in comparison.  Huh.

You sure about that?

In 1981 the most expensive Accord was $9950 USD. A Citation hatch (granted, not the X-11) was $6386 USD.

Remember it like it was yesterday.  He bought a 1981 Accord LX with an automatic - the most expensive Accord the dealer had, or could get.  It was $10K on the dot.  The Citation X-11 was $13K.  The X-11 had the V-6 and many other things, so in many ways it was "more" car than the Accord.  They probably weren't cross shopped by many people.

A little collector's item.
Oh that's neat!

KD would be the only one in the province with one of those!

I've always wanted one.  It was a love/hate thing in NB

But its all fiberglass over a space frame with a V8.....none of that sounds expensive or hard to repair.

Even better, it was some kind of acrylic, similar to the stuff they make bathtubs out of. The finish is guaranteed to crack and ripple over time and is next to impossible to repair properly.
On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.
