A FWD BMW,  that is more than a mini turn around for the Ultimate Driving Machine.

Meh. This would be a bigger deal to me if 95% of BMWs sold in Canada weren't already AWD.

I like the mild styling changes while maintaining BMW cues.
Like many I don't get the FWD variant especially in Winter countries such as Canada with increasing AWD uptake.
Guess BMW is following the like of MB with the CLA.

Bimmer should leave FWD to their  mini line and not devaluate the BMW brand built on luxury handling.

On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

Who is RM Design and how credible are they? It would be helpful if you guys were more specific in your language around artist renderings posted in autos.ca articles. The title/subtitle implies that this is the rendering while it's actually a rendering and not even from BMW.

Is RM design officially connected with BMW or is this just a random image selected for the article?

Why even pick on BMW for making front drive cars? They're in every other niche plus their German pals have been making front drive cars for a while.

From a certain business angle it makes sense and I agree. However, they way BMW performed "perfect balance of handling and luxury" for the past 20 years or whatever is what made the brand. You risk losing what made you what you are in the first place.

I agree but that ship has already sailed. BMW – The ultimate driving machine (and anything for a buck)

No auto reviewers/journalists ever criticize the FWD Mini's handling and driving dynamics. The BMW 1 shares the same  new platform as the latest Mini. It should be much better dynamically than the Mercedes and Audio competitors.
