sorry, but they're not going to use the 'overstock' and switch over all manufacturing to make it now a left-hand driver.  The re-tooling would be too expensive.

But how economical is it to have idle assembly lines? Admittedly, the current Civic Euro-hatch might be a bit weird for Canadian and American tastes, but it gets them back into a popular segment. Watch, though: they'll start selling the hatch here, and bottom will fall right out of the market for hatchbacks.
I used to work here.

while I don't know the details, the UK plant must already build left-hand drive for continental Europe...

Odd, I thought that the Fit was the replacement to the Civic hatch. Don't get the logic of two similar vehicles being carried by the same manufacturer just because there is room for more production oversees to boot.

^^Yup. And if by some miracle it does find it's way here, hopefully it won't be before Honda calls an oncologist to excise that big red tumour growing on it's ass. ;)

It's such an ungainly looking thing. I'd be glad to see it back, but it would have to blow my socks off to actually buy one.

Is that pic from Honda or some photoshop hack?

I think they've been showing a non-R Civic hatch around themselves and it looks different than your post.

The R hatch looks good...remember that popular video where you could scroll form good guy to bad guy Civic...R to regular?

If you are talking about the picture of the Tourer, its real and off the Honda (UK) website.

No overlap with the CR-V and HR-V?
