OK, I'll go.  Last week my next door neighbors had their first baby.  I took care of the driveway and front walk shoveling while they were at the hospital.  They didn't ask, I just did it.  Figured cleaning the driveway was probably the last thing he wanted to do when his wife & baby came home.

called a customer and told them to come back in to re-sign some paperwork... after the car was over the curb, i found a way to get a .5% better rate, so resubmitted and got it done...

they had no idea.

i'm in public service sector, and we often have bad rep of saying 'it's not my job'...

well, even though it's not my job, i talked to an old lady, walking her thru how to use one of the city websites.  took 40 minutes.

problem is, now she knows my name and she said she will ask for me when she has to call us.   :P

Ha, for some reason that reminded me of a customer my company had years ago. He once needed some help with something and I was out of the office so someone gave him my cell number. No problem, I help him out. But then he got into the habit of calling my cell on a regular basis outside of normal work hours for non-critical stuff. Really irked me.

On my way to work this AM.  Decided at the last minute to hit Tim Horton's for a honey lemon tea (so good), and hit my right turn signal to grab the right lane, about 1 km ahead of the entrance.  Nobody, and I mean NOBODY was letting me in... until one guy in a Dodge Caravan slowed down.  Turns out, he was going to Tim's as well, and was behind me in the ordering lane.  Told the girl I was paying for his order, and why.  The best part was seeing his expression as I waved and headed off.   :)

On February 4th, I greeted the greeter.  As I entered Walmart, I noticed the greeter wasn't looking in my direction, so I stopped, walked up to her and said "I'm greeting the greeter". I shook her hand and told her to have a great evening.

Pulled a very nice lady out of her parking spot today in town. She said her husband was out of town and she was trying to get one of her kids to the hospital as he was running a fever......best part getting the hugest high five and a smile from her 5 year old son.
Lighten up Francis.....

Changed a ladies tire yesterday.  She was pulled over on the side of the road with a flat.  She said her husband was on his way, but I changed it anyway.  I would have felt bad just driving away.

Well there's always the possibility of that upside, but in my case it was an elderly woman in an older caddy. :)

Lots of opportunities for good deeds in the Edmonton area today with about 15cm of new snow. Yanked three cars out of the ditch today with the HL. Gotta love a good tug-em-strap and 4WD. Would have been four but the dropped to the ground Civic had no hook spots. The guy had cut them off. Combined with no way to get under the car thanks to 1mm of ground clearance I just had to leave him there. Of course once he's out, his bald summer 40-series tires will have him off again in 20M, so what's the point?
