...the Lincoln MKX appealed to me far more today than this ubiquitous ride fraught with freezing urea lines and the same BMW-esque look that we've come to know for the past decade.  In other words, I'm bored of this.

Another football mom's car........*yawn*

At least it looks good inside and out, and certainly drives well.

Personal preference, but I've always believed the central locking button should be well, centrally located on the dash next to the hazard switch. And I prefer separate buttons for the various Driver Assist options. But it looks like BMW is moving away from this.

This review reads like an advertorial in a lifestyle magazine. Nothing about the way the price rockets up as soon as you hit the option packages, the uninspired interior design, or the decidedly un-BMW steering feel? Or that BMW is pawning off a soon-to-be-retired diesel engine on us poor North Americans, while in Europe they get the more refined, economical and powerful B47?

It would be fine if this was a first drive review, but isn't this at least the third time this vehicle has been written up on autos.ca?

I almost bought this thing and decided against it due to:

-  Rubbery steering
-  Lethargic engine
-  Ugly, ugly interior with anything but black on black

We literally drove this thing and the GLK250 on back to back days and the difference in ride quality was like night and day.  The MB diesel is a peppy little thing and (oh the irony) the CUV handled like a champ.  It's too bad the interior felt cramped.

C&D got a 0-60 of 7.9 and through the quarter in 16.2 sec @ 84 mph with the X3 oil burner. Fuel consumption is EPA city/highway driving: 27/34 mpg, with C&D observed: 28 mpg

Ok, but not earth shattering.

They got 0-60 of 5.8  and through the quarter in 14.6 sec @ 92 mph with the Q5 diesel. Fuel consumption is EPA city/highway driving: 24/31 mpg with C&D observed: 27 mpg.

Much better performance and similar fuel economy.

This.  Even the oil burner in the GLK is better than the one BMW stuffed into the X3.

Whoa!! parts of me are calling for long johns, all of a sudden.

Always felt the the X3 was the least BMWesqe of the clan.

Even the wife who's a premium car fan remarked that the interior was uninspiring.

Good to see that there have been some improvements but BMW needs to step it up more considering MB's and similar competitors.

I don't have any particular dislike for the X3, I'm just indifferent. I did get driven around last week in a base 2015 GLK and found it to be quite nice and comfortable inside for driving around the city.

Presumably in the front seat? The GLK's back seat is tiny.

Yes, front.
