Well if people scoff at the price of the Escalade GM does make the Yukon Denali which is nearly $10K less expensive and is very close in feature set.  Plus for those that don't like CUE the Yukon has real push buttons to go with it's touch screen.

I too am surprised that the author didn't talk much about the magnetic ride control system.

Even if I needed something in this size range the Escalade would be out if for no other reason than the "gangsta" image. To me they reek of "way more money than class"

Unless one really needs the size of these things for hauling, it seems the main draw of these trucks is the on-road presence and intimidation factor, in which case they all fall well short of The King: the Chevy Suburban, with the “Inconspicuous Master Of The Universe” package, i.e. black exterior, tinted windows, standard, non-oversize wheels, strobes behind the grille and one of those satellite platter antenna things on the roof - motorcade optional  ;D

"The Escalade is also the only truck here that uses leaf springs on the back;"

I realize this article is a bit old now but, did no one else notice this mistake?  GM's full-size SUVs haven't used leaf springs since '99-'00... Even GM's own website states they have coil springs, a quick look underneath would have easily confirmed this...  Not to be picky, but it you're reviewing a vehicle get your specifications and facts correct please.

That Escalade sure did post fantastic fuel economy numbers. Funny how GM and their old school pushrod V8's stay so competitive.

Funny that the writers found the QX80 as Motortrend has it one second slower in their figure-eight times

Yes, because it likely takes 3 or 4 taps of the screen to get it to actually respond given my CUE experiences.

A simple, proper button works first push, every time.

No, it does not! It has haptic feedback and once you get the response time down don't havebto wait for the vibration. Just like a phone or tablet.

Do you own a car with NormT?
I've driven many cars with it, and the experience Jeff expresses fits with my experience. It's also worse when you're in motion.
