Do you realize that in about 30 (updated as requested) years, we'll have millions of old ladies running around with tattoos?

I had the same issue with my dryer a few years back, bought the part from Sears & replaced it... and it worked great afterwards. Then it went again a couple years later, this time I figured out to reset the overheat fuse you slam it on the ground to get it to flip inside the housing and then check with the ohm meter and it's all good. I can change it in under 15mins now  :rofl2:

That's funny, I just purchased a pair of those coveralls yesterday for work.  Not at Mark's though.  I've got some work to do at our local oil refinery and they are required.  Also had to get a fire retardant rain suit.

When I did high voltage training a number of years ago, they had 40Cal suits for us to try out.

(Not me)

I couldn't imagine how crappy it would be to be in one of those in summer. Better than being cooked by a plasma ball though.

That's what I wear when working with our 4160v stuff.

Do you work on much live stuff?

For the most part, anything with an arc flash rating above 12cal, we usually plan to have it de-energized if at all possible.

I used to go into live low voltage cabinets (600V) quite a bit during commissioning. If it was warm, just with a T-shirt and pants. Eventually someone at the company tuned into the dangers of arc flash and we did a bunch of training. No live work for us these days.

Mostly I just write stuff and point anyway.  ;D

We work live up to 600v for troubleshooting (my main job).   We only occasionally work on the 4160 for locking out, switching supply, or resetting.

Most of our I/O is now 24vdc, don't even get a tingle.

I'd probably dab on some primer before the top coat touch-up paint.

Damn. I've already put the touch up paint on it.

If you want, I have a polisher. You can sand it down, put down primer, then paint, wet sand, and then compound. The polisher can smooth it out a fair bit.

I had some decent success doing this on my car for a few rock chips and an unfortunate incident in my underground parkade  :-[.
It's a bit of work mind you but I found the results worth it. I'll have more practice by the end of next week too so I can give you a hand

I hate fall.  I hate the whole end of summer, end of fun, beginning of school, getting dark early crap.  Yes, the leaves are pretty, but soon everything will be dead and grey and bleak.  I don’t get the February blahs, I get them in the fall.  I can’t wait until late December when we begin to have more daylight...  Been dragging myself around all week.  Thankfully heading down to see Mike next weekend.  Haven’t seen him since August.  That’s also part of this blah period...  I miss him.  Yes, we talk every day, but, you know...

OK - whine over.

Oh - and I’m going for a sleep study tonight.  That’s just a statement of fact, not a complaint.

You got that straight, man.  Temps 10 degrees below normal, add snow and that's been Winnipeg for the past week.  It's dreadful and demoralizing.
My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government. - Thomas Jefferson
