There is a center tach / digital speedo mode.

Like the IS FSport thing.

There you like that? I turned into a Lexus thread your favorite.

Yea....it turns into some "power" display or something when in center tach mode, doesn't it?  I forget TBH...

Well that was a disappointing update from you, no drama or complaints? You must be getting mellow in your "old" age.  ;)
Feel free to drop in anytime and stir up some trouble.  :hello:

awesome car.  awesome.   quad look like he was moving into the v60 at the autoshow a couple years ago.  did i say this car is awesome?  8)

So true which is why I was hoping he would say it was a giant turd so I wouldn't want anymore. Time is running out to get the last of the I6 turbos.

Too bad. :) You still want.

New model should be out in '17. The old one should drop price pretty heavily I would assume.

I'll just leave this here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukyl4oJipLc

You always know the right thing to say.  ;D

It has now been (slightly over) two years. 39k so far.

I was driving the MDX all last week (wife travelling so I am on daycare run duty). Got back into the V60 after ~8 days of not touching it.
Felt good. Put a smile on my face. I really like this car. I love the engine. It just has that feel of immense and immediate thrust underfoot, available at a moment's notice.

Very smooth, nonchalant, very composed. I am probably repeating my old posts. So the car is very consistent too.

Rattle issues have been pretty much nonexistent.

Other than the radar / camera unit failing about 12 months ago nothing has appreciably gone wrong. Only thing is that when I got it aligned, the dealer said that front camber was (slightly) out of spec. It isn't supposed to be adjustable, and they said it was likely due to hitting a pothole. My wheels and tires are fine despite being fragile looking 19s. I find this all very funny. Car drives perfectly straight so I am punting this for now.

It is remarkable just how well sorted all of the driving nannies are in this car compared to the MDX. Its world's of difference....in the V60 even in very mixed and stop and go traffic I can just let the car do its thing, even if people come in and out of the lane. The MDX on the other hand panics all the time and does odd things.

I do wish the rear seat latch anchors were exposed so I didn't have to jam huge tethers in between the cushions. Its opened up this giant gap...probably permanent... :'(. Bigger than the gap between Michael Strahan's front teeth. That would be my one complaint.

Fuel economy has been alright. Lifetime is 11.6, and a lot of that has been during awful DVP commutes. Lately with my new improved commute I have been getting 10-10.5 ish on the daily drive.

I can see myself being very pleased with this car for years to come. Styling this sexy and 325hp/350tq never gets old.

^Nice! Sounds like it's been a good match for you. The power of that inline blown 6 is awesome, test drove a few of those in the past, lotsa pull!

3 year update.

Only 50k on it as I have been driving the MDX daily for a while now (long story that doens't make much sense) and my wife has been on mat leave for 6 months. Will be going back to daily driving the V60 in Jan.

Still really like the car. No inclination to replace.

Updates:
-Battery was showing some low voltage messages so since we are going into winter I decided to switch it out and not chance it (especially after my brother had a surprise battery failure in his TL without warning).
-The HVAC blower motor was a little squeaky the other day in -18 degree temps. Seems to have stopped now. Meh.
-Its a bit small now. My toddler is kicking the back of the driver seat. I have purchased some covers from Amazon.

Otherwise all good!

4 year update.

66k now. All is well. Still feels quite new. Nothing went awry in the last 12 months although once, hilariously, the instrument display booted up in Japanese language mode for a few seconds before reverting to English. Happened too quickly to get a photo.

This will be the last year on the existing winter tires (WS80).

Also I fixed a door rattle. It was a broken clip that probably got buggered when the tint was installed. Good now. Meh.

No compulsion to replace. I'm getting old and kind of cheap and this is plenty good enough.

Nice update. Short and to the point. Really wish they would have put the straight six turbo in the new model. Wonder if there will be a small desire for these in the future?

Actually I kind of like the 4cyl. The new cars feel a lot lighter on the nose.

I hope Guy sends his new one out this way when he's done with it so I can buy it :P

I doubt we'll see the 6 again. Polestar P1 is 4cyl + hybrid.

Nice to see the V60 has been pretty solid.  Aside from the rear brake issue (a design flaw - rotors wear out too quickly because they are too small, according to the specialist to whom I bring it since the warranty ended), the C30 has had no mechanical issues, and two other faults (broken sunroof switch and leaky windshield) were covered free of charge under warranty.
I'd rather be car-poor than house-poor...

The current generation of 4-banger ICE is Volvo's last. After that, it's EV-everything. That will be the case for most Euro manufacturers, as they're all gearing for a phase-out of ICE by 2040.

Hmm its been 6 years now I think. Or will be in January. Just noticed I missed the 5year update.

All remains well. Didn't drive much this last year. I think it has 82k.

Bought new winter tires for it. Crappy tire had a clearance sale on XIce 3s.

There was a cable rattle in the steering column that would happen when you turn left about 90deg. Was there for years but then it went away.

Because of COVID I had to get a new battery. The car sat for 4 months and didn't move and upon resuscitation the battery was kind of iffy. Oh well.

My 3yo sitting behind the driver seat is a seat kicker / seat pusher, and that is pretty annoying.

It remains very pleasant. Good purchase. Didn't do as many kms as I thought I would have at the time. But if you told me in early 2015 what life in late 2020 would be like I would have thought you a bit mad.

If it imploded or got stolen I would probably look to replace with something in the Toyota/Lexus hybrid crossover department. Perhaps used. Something boring that won't cause me any grief (not that the Volvo has).

Hi mmret!      I have a Volvo now. XC60.     Works fine apart from the infinitely annoying Sensus infotainment.     Next car will be Tesla or an ID4 I think.

Nice to hear that your V60 is still running well!
