What's the rattle/squeak status on the Volvo?

It just kind of dawned on me how cool the Polestar program is.  Imagine being able to take your regular BMW or Mercedes in to the dealer and getting it M'ed or AMG'd?

Its more like 335is or C450AMG or an APR flash than a real AMG or M (which would be the "real" Polestar car with actually different mechanicals).

That said the fact they make it possible to do after you buy the "normal" car + full warranty is unique I believe.

BMW offers a power kit with full warranty, but only on 35i and 20d cars as far as I know. Here is a link:

So that is ACS warranty covering whatever is voided of the BMW warranty? Still a bit of a risk.

Impressive gains tho.

Dinan is factory warranty too.

Hmm some additional random thoughts.
  • Just got Polestar today. Wow. Turned a quick car into a "too quick for the street" car. Putting it in D is now like the old S, and the new S is like having a V8. Throttle response is much more lively - in fact I'd prefer if it had stiffer springs in the gas pedal. Maybe Red Bull can furnish me with some more amenable throttle maps.
  • Its basically a ... long hatch ... not so much a wagon. But that's okay. I really like the style and its big enough. Going on a road trip in a few weeks and we'll see how it does with all the baby crap we have.

Nice update. Doing the tune after you have had the car for a while really shows you the difference. Glad it was worth it.

The 'long hatch' is one of the reasons I really like the V60. I don't need a V70 (if it was available here) but want more space than my small hatch.

What's the rattle/squeak status on the Volvo?

Nary a peep. Impressed.

AWESOME!!!  I love how they have templates specific to your engine (T5, T6) to accurately mount the polestar logo!

The one year anniversary has passed! Two days ago actually.

The car remains excellent and delicious.

And also fast. And rattle free.

LATCH tethers / baby seat have buggered up the rear seat a bit :(

I believe there are still no scratches on the paint. Excellent.

Today snow build up blocked the radar panel to the point where it could not do the ACC.

So then I had to actually drive with my feet, like a peasant. >:(

Many condolence to the Snowman family. :(

Back to hiatus now.

Most important of all.  Glad it's working out.

Well that was a disappointing update from you, no drama or complaints? You must be getting mellow in your "old" age.  ;)
Feel free to drop in anytime and stir up some trouble.  :hello:

awesome car.  awesome.   quad look like he was moving into the v60 at the autoshow a couple years ago.  did i say this car is awesome?  8)

So true which is why I was hoping he would say it was a giant turd so I wouldn't want anymore. Time is running out to get the last of the I6 turbos.

Well .. if it helps to push you along .. I still really like my lowly (in comparison) T5 V60... except wouldn't mind an extra 0.5 inch of clearance..but that's the only knock

Good news about the wagon!  Especially the part about its being tight and rattle free.

Too bad. :) You still want.

New model should be out in '17. The old one should drop price pretty heavily I would assume.
