Leaves too much space, someone cuts in and now it had to slow down again for more space.  Repeat process.

Never thought of that...

I hate using it.  Leaves too much space, someone cuts in and now it had to slow down again for more space.  Repeat process.

Although I think you bought an awesome car, the ACC reasoning seems like the oddest reasoning in your search.

Not all ACC systems are created equally.

I drove down this morning with the ACC. Total cutoffs in ~25km of highway = 1, and of course it comes from a taxi driver.

I actually find that it follows a bit too closely at the closest distance.

So far its working rather well but the commute home will be the bigger test (I'm not driving back uptown during rush hour for a few weeks yet though).
You can't just have your characters announce how they feel.
That makes me feel angry!

Not all are equal but I've yet to see a system follow too closet a 100km/h.

If you are crawling at 50-60km/h then I understand, they seem close at those speeds.

Still seems like a silly reason, you have 2 good feet and mental capacity, why not use them?  haha

Love the Volvo V60, yours particularly. Congratulations!

I don't like many ACC systems and haven't sampled Volvo's, but must single out the Subaru EyeSight system for being very unobtrusive and natural.

I did use it in stop and go traffic from Mississauga to Oshawa, plus in other highway and rural driving and found it very, very good. With it, just had to flick the steering wheel button if at a standstill longer than 5 seconds or so and passing slower cars didn't cause the car to slow if you tapped the turn signal on in time (plus it has 3 selectable distances). Quite liked it, unlike most other ACC systems I've driven which are annoying. If Volvo's behaves similarly, chances are I'd like it too.

Nice discovery. Apparently map updates are free for the "life" of the car (as long as they care to make them, I guess).

You know you can hit the brakes, right?

Yes.  Which is why I don't need ACC.   ;D

Relax. :) In 10 years, it'll be standard on everything. Just like ABS.

Another reason to buy used....Although my eventual LS600h will have it.

I have to say mm that instrumentation display really was a show stopper for me when I looked at the V60.  If the early  2015 model had had a power rear door and conventional instruments I might be driving one myself.

I also hated it ... at least initially. I'm fine with it now, gets the job done. I kind of like central speedos.

I think they could have done a much better job (and they did, in the new XC90) but ... perhaps part of getting older is caring less.

My wife remarked also on the lack of power rear door. It is an odd ommission at this price range. The XC60 has one I think.

Excellent! A guy that actually buys a wagon vs. all the people that just talk about it.  :fiver:

+1. Awesome choice!
